Historicly Accurate Vs Aestheticl Pleasing Paint Schemes

I was trying to bring this up on a WW1 Landship forum and the replies were basically research the paint schemes .
Next year when I start my WW1 line and will be making full builds starting off with the German A7v tank.
Most if not all the marking were done in the field and they look like it on the A7V.
There is a picture with the German crosses painted on the side of one of the tanks . Apparently there were done by 2 different soldiers one about 6 foot 6 and the other comparable to a midget .
The average person would see this and say that is off .
So....should I make my full builds as accurate as I can or fudge and make them even and symmetrical ?

For me, if it looks cool then I am good with it. I don't need it to be spot on historically accurate, but I know some guys are very particular about that kind of stuff.

I agree with Maritime... For example 21c made some great looking aircraft schemes that were entirely fake - the "Laura Michelle" P-51 and "Samantha Peyton" P-38 come to mind. Accuracy is always nice, and I'm probably more of a stickler for it that I recognize, but as long as something looks good, it fine with me.

Think most people would want historically accurate, unless that makes it look unsymmetrical, or "wrong" for some reason.
Even if it is accurate, if it looks off, the eye is instantly drawn to that, and no matter how much the brain says it should be that way, just doesn't look right.

Pickel I'd go with something like this,
Or just ask those who want the full build.
When I build one of your kits or a custom project I want to be as accurate as possible (vehicle and paint scheme)
but I often change the turret number by one number so its not THAT tank. A tank from a specific division, historically accurate with a little difference.

That Schnuck is a German copy of Mephisto and they did the crosses pretty close to perfect .
The original Schnuck 's crosses were not.
In your original picture of Wotan the crosses are off as well.
