FineScale Modelers March 2015 issue has a build of Merit's 1/18 Dauntless Kit. It's a beautiful model. I wasn't planning on getting one, now I'm reconsidering. This is the type of exposure Merit needs. A glimmer of hope for the future of 1/18 scale.

If more 1/18 collectors could build models the scale would do great. Its a great scale!

I agree. I'm still surprised how many folks in the model building community never heard of 21st Century Toys
and their 1:18 product line, a little late now. But if Merit can get more exposure with these 1:18 kits, modelers
may take an interest in a scale many still think is for dicast cars.

Great exposure being in FSM.

Can only help Merit, and hopefully inject some more interest in 1/18.

I agree, for along time modelers stuck their nosses up at anything over 1/35 scale but it seems to be getting better. Trumpeters 1/16 kits with full interiors have brought alot of people over and now the larger scales seem more acceptable and not the red headed step child of the modeling world.

If it had marking options and was reasonably priced, I would gladly take a shot at building the 1/18 FW-190......of course that's assuming it comes out in my lifetime!
