What to do with a GI JOE MOBAT

I have a GI Joe MOBAT tank that I used to like. But now, with all my 21C tanks, I would like to turn it into something close to a real tank. I would especially like to turn it into some sort of Russian tank. Does anyone know of anything with a running gear close to the MOBAT? From pictures I've looked at, I'm thinking maybe a T-55 or T-62 with some changes to wheel placement, but would be open to any recommendations.

I always thought at a glance it resembled a Hellcat. I could never open up the turret and make it happen, but since you asked..

#$%!!#! IT, DIGGER!!!!
Even though I want a Russian tank, thought I would take a look at a Hellcat. Well, I came across pictures of an M-39 AUV. I'm liking that idea, alot.

Is this the same thing as the GI Joe "Patriot Grizzly" tank?
I've seen literally dozens of these at toy shops and on eBay here in the UK, usually £10-15 each.
I didn't pay them much attention as, not being based on a real vehicle, I though they had no modelling/customising value - I didn't think of buying them just for the tracks/suspension! Considering that this is the hardest part of a tank to "scratchbuild", by far, this might make it a good starting point for building something like a Challenger or Merkava... I'll have to take a closer look at the next one of these tanks I see.
(EDIT: Here's a link to a Grizzly on eBay:

Apologise for the long link but this forum doesn't seem to support the [URL] tag.

EP, that's got it's own potential, but this is the MOBAT:
Oh, well. That image didn't last.

Wow. After looking on Ebay, I'm surprised they're going for so little. Especially the 80's era tanks. I once saw a HISS tank NIB going for over $200.
