English P-40: price?
English P-40: price?
I just saw the Motorworks RAF P-40 on (world) eBay. What would be a reasonable price to get one?

Is that $69 shipping from the U.S.? What shipping is used? I would think it would be considerably less from our west coast than say, Ohio? It's outrageous just to ship to and from our west coast here to and from Ohio. Especially in the Pacific Northwest around Washington State and Oregon.
What makes the P-51 Mustang so special?

A helicopter does not want to fly, it just vibrates so much that the ground rejects it

I think $150 , he did not hit the shift and rather than type a $ he hit the 4.
I think that the RAF desert brings the highest price for a P-40

It's good to see these are still holding their value somewhat, even when there aren't as many people with money to spend.
Glad I got at least one.
Haven't payed attention to who's plane this is represented, as it's boxed away in the garage.
Is it Neville Duke's Tomahawk?

Re: English P-40: price?
G'day Dauntless. It is a Aircraft from 112 Sqd Flown By Neville Duke RAF in November 1941. While flying this aircraft, Duke was credited with three kills in nine days. (a CR.42, a Me 109F, and a G.50) On 30 November, the aircraft was lost when Duke was shot down by Otto Schultz of JG27. Duke bellied in and survived the crash, and became the Allies' highest scoring ace in the Mediterranean theatre. After the war, Duke (DSO, OBE, DFC with two bars, AFC, Czech Military Cross) flew as a test pilot and at one time held the world speed record.

Re: English P-40: price?
Good to know, thanks Studly.
When I first started collecting the 1:18 planes, they never told us or had anything on the box telling who flew them. Except later with the Taylor and Welch Tomahawks.
Neville Duke must have gotten a P-40E Warhawk, or Kittyhawk for the RAF after that, as it's offered in smaller die cast scale.

Re: English P-40: price?
Yeah i know there are a couple of 1:48 scale diecast kits for Neville Duke and that's it which is a shame considering what he done and achieved . Below is a lik from his Obituary its a great read.
