Small Scale Military Headquarters

Last year I skipped it hoping to find it as a "after christmas" sale. That did'nt work Well know its back out and it comes w/ figures for $150. It looks like fun, but I can't get over how funny looking it is. Short wheel base and stubby gun.
Anyway, the ones that bought it or seen in perform in person, how is it?
Fast, compare it to a normal RC car
Off-road capable.....of course to a limit
Sound, cheesy or realistic?
Suspension, fixed or independent?
Any problems?
Can you buy accessories for it or do things to it, to make it more "worn"?

And throw in any other 2cents you guys have, i liked to know what you think.

Or should wait for the Abrams?

I've had mine for awhile now and it is a lot of fun. Has worked faithfully and nothing has broken on it. Engine sound is crisp and volume adjustable. Independent suspension on the raod wheels lets it climb up and over almost anything.

Hummer is a blast and travels extremely fast. I flipped it a couple of times with sharp turns and it keeps on cruisin along faithfully as well.

Disappointed about the problems with the Abrams, I'm going to stay away from that one unless serious markdowns or 21st fixes it.

Go for it. I love mine even though I rarely use it. It's a great tank.

Accessories for the Stuart are amazing. You can get a realistic 37mm gun barrel and more appropriate .30 cal hull barrels and better turret .30 cal or mount a .50 cal. You can add, gas cans, tow cables, ammo cases. Just anything your heart or pocket book desires.

Oh, I forget, of course, after you paint and weather it, you can add decals.

I just got a bunch of Amorex accessories, all metal and works of art....tow hooks, tow cable, .30 cal barrels and lift rings for the turret.

The 21c sound effects are excellent, very close to the real thing, speed and turning is very close to a scalled down actual Stuart. Not like the reported very high speed of the Abrams. I initially had trouble with the track slipping off the boggies when I ran over twigs, but it straightened itself out after repeated uses. No other problems but I don't run it in water or up sand dunes.

You mentioned the added figures, I wouldn't count on using the four, two are General Patton and his Colonel (from the latest 21c Patton Jeep) and the other two are the Germans from the 21c Kubel. The Colonel is the one with the moronic grin.

One word, great describes it. If you are a nit picker, you can accessorize to your hearts content, or keep it as is . Keep you eye on eBay and you can get one decently priced if you are patient.

A word on being patient, my first 1/6 item was a customized 21c WSC and I've been looking for an untouched one for two years, but prices are insane. Recently an eBay listing for a Scout Car poped up with a "buy it now" figure of $67, brand new, never been out of the box. Scout Cars go for $250 to well over $300. It lasted on eBay for about five minutes before one of the gentlemen on this board snapped it up and knowing I have been looking gave it to me for his cost and his shipping.

It never ceases to amaze me what a great bunch of guys are on this board and what a great product 21c produces.

Well guys I did it!! I picked up the Stuart from SAMs this evening. I only played w/ it for 15-20mins before the wife said, "OK, it has to go under the tree untill Christmas"
Anyway that thing is AWSOME, everything you guys mentioned is right on. Thanks. The drivability, sound and sheer size You don't realize it untill you get it out of the box.

Best bang-for-buck buy in 1/6dom.

The skirts were intended for N Africa use, and once the machines were redeployed to Europe, problems arose with debris getting trapped under same skirts and popping tracks. A directive was passed to have all skirts removed.

If you follow the recessed lines, and use ref pix as guides, your results will provide you with a tank that will literally climb a rough vertical-ish surface well over the height of the axles. I can crank mine onto its end.......it has that much guts.

A repaint, weathering, and a good wash will take care of any need for "character" you may have.

Never been disappointed with my Stuart. Ever.

And I forgot The Toy Surgeon, who make super neat 1/6 ammo cases made of wood with ammo or not, depends on you wants. His cases are for .30 cal, .50 cal ammo and also cases for cannon ammo.
