This will certainly make things easier for those who are going to super detail the Harrier. I wish they would have released the Tomcat in a kit form, it would have made things ALOT easier for me.

Seems like something for all scales. Even 1/6 is represented with a nice Ruskie MG that can be used for WW2 and VN.

Has anybody bought and built any of the 1/18 kits that are available? Are they easy to build? Does anybody have any pictures?

Still no idea on the MSRP on any of this stuff

I have a feeling it is all going to be very pricey.

Noticed the pre-built painted of the FW-190 didn't make the 2014-2015 list.

The 1/18 Harrier in kit form is already listed at The Flying Mule for $170. Hopefully the pre-assembled/pre-painted version won't be too much higher.

Actually I'm a little surprised not everyone is listing these all at the same time. Perhaps they're waiting on further news to break with actual photos of the finished products.

Aiken's just updated the information on their site. Emailed them Friday about it and was told they just got back from the New York Toy Fair with little information to go on. It turns out the prices and release dates have not yet been confirmed by the manufacturer. See details under "historical note" in blue.

I have never seen a JST/MERIT kit. But, I guess that is the trend in the hobby. Prices for "out of the box" 1:18 scale stuff are too high to get any volume. Kits (I hope) will offer better value. I don't mind building a kit. It allows for customization to build a prototype you enjoy. Yes, painting can be a challenge if you don't own an airbrush/compressor. But, if the trend is toward kits, what options do we have?

Didn't catch this earlier or they just added to their site but it seems both the model kit and prebuilt model of the AV-8B are expected to arrive May 31st. They estimate $200 for the prebuilt.

Kits may or may not be a hit with the hardcore IPMS types that scoff at the idea of die cast or pre-built/painted stuff. Look at the retails on the 1/32 B-25 and B-17

for comparison. These Merit kits surely will only have a tiny fraction of the parts. Hopefully they'll keep it simple. I'd rather tackle the FW-190 than the 1/32 B-25 or B-17. I'd have a shot to finish it in my lifetime.

Building kits is very easy. They are not resin, you dont have to wash them, trim them, sand them, fill them and so on. Buy some CA glue and rubber bands and a good exacto knife and you should be able to plow through it in a few hours. Painting & detailing everything is what takes time.
This is a good thing for 1/18, it may bring in some model makers other than the few that are already here and may draw more attention which may result in more future projects.

Wow a Harrier in 1/18? The best plane to produce in 2014 or cheapest jet plane license to get? Although I want the Harrier, there are so many better planes to make...
Does anyone know how much a license from a certain jet model will cost? I know it depends of the maker and type. Just wondering how much Lockheed wants for a 1:18 F-22 license or Sukhoi for a 1:18 PAK-FA license.
Allmost every 1:18 jet will sell, even the badly done F-14 spotcats were selling okay. Imagine they would bring out the best looking jets with no big errors like spotty effects: F-22, T-50 Pak-Fa, F-15, MiG-31, Su-35, Rafale, Eurofighter, Gripen, Mirage 2000, (and S-37 Berkut prototype of course) they could also choice to bring out different limited edition liveries of each plane with a numbered certificate, how cool will that be

That is from the 2013 NY toy fair. I wonder why they haven't posted any pics from 2014? I believe they had a booth.

A 1/18 "Marge".....this and a TRUE LIES Schwarzenegger AV-8B Harrier might get me to return to 1/18.

Probably had to pay the Bong family serious dough for the license of it.
Then again, the JSI paint department might give Marge a mustache...because you know "it's part of the weathering process"

I don't know about a mustache

but it looks like someone from the old 21st factory got a job dry-brushing
silver paint on the green surfaces of this P-38.....

The Bong P-38......I like It, it's is a cool choice.

Assuming this is going to be released, I look forward to adding it to my collection.
Excluding the heavy silver chipping on the o.d. I like the toned down colors
