Removing Screw Plugs

Post by rmoore456 » Wed Feb 12, 2014 11:20 am

Does anyone have a way to remove the screw plugs on 21st Century planes without damaging the plane or plug?

Without damaging the plug?... In the distant past I just used a manual pen-sized modeling drill (whatever you call it), and pierced the plug, cocked the drill and plug to one side to remove plug- you end up with a tiny hole you can fill in later if it's really noticeable.

I've used an x-acto blade and got it in between the plane and the plug and with a little wiggling I usually can get them out.
