Re: Did anyone see this?
Looks interesting and it sold for at a low price for a Bf 109 G and a prototype at that.
The detail on the 21st 109 G's is great and adding this canopy to make it a 109 G 14,
would have extend the mileage they could have gotten from these molds with more sales.

Re: Did anyone see this?
That's cool. They had already done this with the 1:32 model kit of the 109.
Finding out all kinds of things that were planned by 21stC with no info till we see the prototypes.
The 1:18 P-51B/C and the 1:32 B-17 prototypes were shockers to me.
I'll bet they were planning a Hartmann tulip nose with this maybe?

I wish I could find the 21C A6M3 Hamp, SkyRaider, and Mig-21 prototypes. I'm sure there would be a bidding war for some of these prototypes.

Re: Did anyone see this?
Pretty sure 21C found it easier and cheaper to use an existing fuselage for the prototype, since they mostly want to showcase the new canopy. Don't need to create a new scheme just to try out one little piece.dannyc wrote:wait they already did that paint job for the g6 I have it

Re: Did anyone see this?
Interesting find. They did make the Erla Haube canopy on one of the 32x BF-109Gs, so that gives an idea for how installing that part on the 1:18 example could have played out...

Re: Did anyone see this?
I was just looking at some of my 21st aircraft and noticed that one of my two series 1
109's has a similar canopy to the Erla Haube. The portion of the canopy that opens is completely clear.
*reference pic...

My second series 1 109 has the canopy painted like this (this is series 4 just for reference) the way it should be.
I'm thinking it was a quality control issue.
