Where are the 21st RAF P-40 Warhawk???

Post by granch » Tue Aug 13, 2013 2:32 pm

Often scrolling on e-Bay (the part with item from seller who ship overseas, as I'm in Switzrland), I've never seen the RAF version, only the Langley Field and the 2 Pearl Harbour Heroes. I'm planing to find one english P-40, to make a counterbalance to the desert ME-109 and Stuka for the ceiling of my son's room for Christmas, but where will I find this item? is it so rare? if yes, what would be a reasonnable price?

I have one of these, granch, and don't think that they are that rare. Just have to keep looking, and sure one will turn up at some point.

Anyways, this does tend to be one of the more rare P-40s. They were first released at Wal Mart 9 years ago as part of the "Motorworks" line that the 21c items were initially branded under. In an odd twist, it came with the "Flying Tigers" pilot figure. The RAF P-40 also did not have decals and the national insignia are painted on. I want to say it also went to the small retailers as well. I know the "Flying Tigers" and "Langley Field" P-40s both did...

I still have the one I got back in 2004 at Wal Mart and even made a custom pilot for it using the 21c Corsiar pilot as a base... My local Wal Marts got a bunch and at the time I was rather bummed. I wanted the "Flying Tigers" P-40, which was also released at the same time, but went to other areas of the country. The last I ever saw that plane at retail was in 2005 when I came across a few sitting in a display with other XD planes at the RAF Museum gift shop in Hendon, England. They were on clearance for 39.99 GPB, or a little over $60 US.
