While working on making my Indy truck look different than the toy and more like a real existing truck, I came across this site showing Mercedes-benz LG63/L3000 series trucks with double sets of rear wheels and canvas top.

Some of the pics look really close to what I'm trying to depict with my tweaking.

That thing is really interesting, don't think I've ever seen one of those before. Very curious how your custom will turn out.

That's Great :!: I've seen dozens of pictures of the Mercedes "L" series trucks now and no two are alike. they seem to date back to the early 1930's well before the war. The possibilities are nearly endless. Mine came loose without the grill guard and after looking at all those pictures, none of them had one. I scratch build one and now won't even use it. :?

That does look great Normandy. :D :D :D

I will be making better wheels for it .

I will be making a full wheel and I will be also making a backing for the original wheels so you do not have that hallow toy look.

:D

Looking good Normandy. Is the truck a more streamlined fuel tanker or a type of "crash truck" fire truck?

Axis, what vehicle are you planning on making? As for the grill guard, I'm still trying to figure out what to use
it for. Its in the parts box for now, to good to throw out.

Here is one I'd like to try.......

Maritime96, the truck is an LG 3000 Tankwagen Kfz. 384 used for aircraft refueling.

I'm using features from several photos I've seen to make a generic transport truck in gray. Going to try to make a canvas top. Mine had no bed cover so it will be an open bed. I'll probably have it towing a Pak40. I've seen several pictures with that triangle thing on the roof. What is that :?:

The triangle was a roof mounted trailer warning, it would be raised or lowered depending if the vehicle was towing
a trailer or not.
