What would the 1/18th collector like to see in terms of an action figure that was not sold.
Soviet Guards, Hitler Youth???.....

The ones you mentioned would be neat. Also, British Soldiers, figures from Pearl Harbor too!

Well 21st did produce tankers, I wish they were more available and the ones in panzer uniforms.

the third figure has a 21st DAK Erdmann head and a FOV officers cap.

There are (were) plenty of of tankers in winter/fall camo uniforms......

....but I prefer the traditional panzer uniform.

Accurate Russian troops, followed by British soldiers. We got so many German vehicles in cammo patters and units from the Eastern front, it was a shame that the only Russian item we got in 1:18 (that wasn't a customization or kit) was the Mig-15. I know there were the Hasbro Indiana Jones Russians, which are a good stop-gap measure, but not quite what we needed.

Then there was all the German DAK items that needed the British to oppose them. I know the US fought in North Africa, but it was classically a British/German engagement.

On the subject of the German tankers in the standard "Panzer wrap" uniform, we do have the JSI German tanker, but one has to paint over the royal blue color...

I say Russian soldiers would have made the most sense. Didn't TKO (that is his screen name, right? It's been a while since I've seen anything from him so I could be off on the name) say that 21st had plans to make Russians, or a Russian machine gun crew, or something?

I'd say, just from the heydays, British and RUssian soldiers would be at the top of the list... I'm always hopeful that, due to the size and relative cost-effective nature of action figures compared to vehicles, that figuers make some kind of comeback. Anything's possible.

I'd love more obscurity and all, but for me Russian and British Infantry would be at the top... Some N. African GI's and Brits would be nice to accompany the DAK as well. Likewise, DAK in shorts would be nice as well. Since they made Patton, a Rommel figure would be swell.

I'd always like to have seen some Navy figuers too, Axis/Allies alike. Italian's would be low on my list ultimately. Flight Crewmen would be higher ultimately. More just pilot figures even (B-17 crew, etc.).

U-Boat Captain? That'd be pretty slick to see.

I'd dig seeing a French Resistance Fighter or 5. Russian Winter Troops would be great too. Volksturm, and yes new black uni'd German Tankers would be nice.

Lots of choices with figures.

I too always hold onto a small bit of hope that someday 1/18 WWII figures will make a return, but I honestly see no honest chance of it happening. AllGo! was our last hope, and they simply up and vanished, and no one seems to know what happened. FoV won't make them since Target told them "no" to WWII figures, and BBi is just interested in making modern military vehicles. Sure, Dragon put out those NASA figures, but there was like an 8 year (or more) gap between those and the last wave of WWII figures they put out. Hell, they cancelled the last wave of U.S. 1/18 figures. There's a link to them, just for reference and to enhance the sadness of them not being made.

Honestly, I don't see a bright future even for many more modern military figures. All FoV does is pump out identical after identical U.S. soldiers, and even those have disappeared.

Ugh, I just needed to vent/rant that, but now I'm just depressed.

But, just to wrangle myself back on point; I would go dancing in the street if someone were to make quality 1/18 scale Russians comparable to what 21st gave us. Articulation is a must for achieving realistic military dioramas, or at least well sculpted pre posed limbs like Dragon used to do.

Anything other than WWII. I personally only collect Vietnam era and I know there is plenty of interest in it. Unfortunately, I think the interest is generally after they discontinue the items.

So, you're saying you want a figure of my wife's grandfather? He was an engineer on the project.

Well I'm talking about Kenneth Nichols, J. Robert Oppenheimer, Enrico Fermi, Richard Feynman, Edward Teller, Otto Frisch, and Herman von Helmholtz.
If your wife's grandfather is one of these men then absolutely!
