1st Infantry Division

Post by spect_spidey » Tue Nov 01, 2005 5:48 pm

Just out of curiosity, anyone have a theory on this question. BBI and 21st Century have both made figures of 82nd Airborne and the 101st Airborne, anybody got a theory as to why we have not seen any figures designated as being from the 1st Infantry Division a.k.a. The Big Red One?

Some S1 21st guys were done in 1st, 2nd, and 29th Div uniforms. Haven't seen any new regular guys since then. Paras get all the glory.

EDIT - If my bucket 'o extra arms is not playing tricks on me, there were 3 first series guys depicting the 1st ID: The infantryman, the BAR Gunner & the Officer. Is this a trick question :? Because if so I fell for it

There is some fascination with paras that I guess sells because they are always over-represented. 21st gave us 6 then bbi gave us 9 more :?

I don't have my guys to look at, but wasn't the American pack-in with the Fountain playset and the original halftrack driver from the Big Red One? I thought he had that on his helmet.

My fountain set came with a German not an American. Was there a set with an American and a set with a German?

When TRU was clearing them out, most of the boxes had the seals broken, so you could not only check out to make sure everything was there, but see if you were getting an American or a German. Now that I think about it, I think I only went for Germans with the Fountains and got the American with either the Hayloft or Farmhouse........damn, this getting old and senility sucks.

Yes, the halftrack driver was 1st ID, as were a couple other early releases (the ones already mentioned). He did have a helmet insignia; the other series 1 figs had it on their upper left arm.

The Farmhouse set had both an American & German. The Fountain came with a German, as did the hayloft. The bombed building came with an American.

!st Infantry Div Figures (as said before):

S1 US Officer
S1 US BAR Gunner
S1 US Infantry
S1 M3A3 Halftrack Driver
Bombed Building Playset figure (S1 BAR Gunner)
Farmhouse US Figure (S1 US Officer)
