Re: 1/18th King Tiger--- Who Wants a Jagdtiger ?

Post by pickelhaube » Tue Oct 01, 2013 6:47 am

All of the Henschel kits have been shipped !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I needed to finish the full builds and send them off to get painted. Hopefully that will happen this weekend.

Then it is time to start the Jagdtiger. :D :D :D

-----------------------Henschel-------------------Porsche---------------Jagdtiger

Normandy--------------------------------------------------------------x no paint
Maritime 96------------------------------------------------------------x no paint
Tank Ace ----------------------------------------------x-----------------------x
Grockwood---------------------------------------------------------------------x
Skypirate ---------------x-- full build started
Zelda--------------------x---full build started---------x-------------------------x
Grunt--------------------- --------------------------x 2 ?-------------------x 2 ?
Robbie P-----------------Shipped

As far as the Jagd goes. I will split the hull center of the turret and fit the proper spacer.

In order to do this I will have to cut off the fender from center to rear then I will place a piece of styrene to fill that gap and then make the rear fender longer as per the originals.

Now if anybody wanted their Jagd fenderless please let me know.

I do not believe that I will make a new mold for the Jagd . I will custom each one .

But I do think that I will make a mold for the new fighting compartment .

Thoughts ?

Hey Matthew, I don't want to make anymore work for you, but I was going to do a fender less Jagdtiger.
Something like this...

Image

....I know your fenders are part of the mold, so if ya give me a "how to" I'll cut them off myself.
Looking at my King Tiger, if I remove the fenders it looks as if I'll have to add some plastic (styrene) to
the lower hull sides.
Any how Great news on the Jagdtiger!!!

Anybody have Pics of their King Tiger? Maybe work in progress?

Thank You Matthew making this Custom (and All Your Others) for us!!!!...... :!:

I am totally cool with the fenders on the Jagtiger - however you decide put it together is fine by me. I am just thrilled you are making this version. - I second the BIG thanks from Normandy :D

Thanks guys .

Yes you will have to put a strip of styrene if you go skirtless. I think that they need to be even with the bottom of the sponson.

Hey Guys,

It is now official I am working 6 days a week on my " real " job .

The only day I have to work on the Tiger is Sunday and I need to put in some family time on that day.

So production has ground to a halt. I currently am working on 2 Tiger full builds whenever I have time.

Then of course I will have to start the Jagd.

I promise to fill the orders ASAP but when that will happen I am not sure.

That being said if you guys want to be reimberced your monies I under stand.

But rest assure I have ALWAYS filled my orders , but some in a very untimely manner.

Sorry for the delay but right now work is to be had and last year ( being the worst since I have been in business ) is STILL a financial hole that I am just pulling myself out of.

Just please bare with me a bit longer.

I understand Matthew. You're one of the few people keeping this hobby alive
with new customs, Family and life come first....then models.
Glad you have enough "real" work to keep you going, I know contractors
up here who've had to get work from home depot or lowes just to make ends meet.
This will give me plenty of time to think of paint scheme for the Jagdtiger. :)
Take Care,
Normandy.

Hey Guys,

Christmas is quickly approaching and here is a so-so update.

I will be taking off next week and the week between Christmas and New Year to spend time on the Tiger II project.

The full builds are almost 85% done and need to be painted .

Hopefully those will go off to paint early next week.

I hopefully will have time to make the Jagdtiger proto in this time span and if things go smooth hopefully make the moulds for the parts.

Then early next year the Porsche will happen.

My real work is were it used to be, making modeling work next to impossible.

Only when work slows down is when I make XD.

That means during the year of the Horten my real job was a non entity.

If work continues that way it has been the Tiger II may just be my last project.

The A-10 is suffering the fate as the Tiger II project now.

My 3-D printer guy has been on the road for almost a solid year and simply does not have the time as well to spend on our beloved A-10.

The printer guy had offered ( financier ) back his money but he( financier ) is still holding the faith and wants to keep the money where it is .

So with another year comes false hopes and plans for 2 of the XD world's Holy Grails.

So close yet so far away.

Damned economy.

So, Mr. Picklehaube, and other distinguished gentleman, are all of these brilliant 1/18 German tanks gone forever or is there a way to still procure them? :D

This was a long build along with the mold making process .

It took me about 3-4 weeks to make all of the molds.

The new molds took me slightly over 2.
