JSI F-14 an upsize?

I was lucky enough to pick up the 4D 1/32 F-14 this weekend.
Upon putting it together I noticed the major external pieces are the exact same mold
As the JSI F-14. Unfortunately I don't have my 1/18 version here,
But does anyone know if they just upsized this mold, if they didn't, it's a pretty
Amazing co-incidence that several key molds are identical.

Initially it appears JSI and Famemaster envisioned as their template - a F-14A Bombcat (circa 1999-2003) But in reality I don't think they had a clear vision on what Tomcat either company wanted to portray....well JSI did a better job.

Where they got Bombcat features correct:

NACA gun gas purge vents
ECM blister on the left front nose gear door
ECM blister on the beaver tail fairing at the rear
ECM blister at the leading edge of the wing glove vane

What's funny is JSI has both blisters underneath the glove vanes, whereas Famemaster has only one - the little one. JSI at least got that part correct.

Both have the LAU-138 Sidewinder rails.

Where they don't have the Bombcat correct:
The main landing gear wheels. I can't believe they missed this. Those wheels only appeared from the prototype Tomcat up through the late 1970's...maybe 1980..no later than 1982.
Then they have the vertical tails from the first scale production Tomcats up through about 1982 or 1983 before Grumman added an additional antenna and the stiffener plates at the top. The plates look like overlapping "7's". The modified tails were like this on every Tomcat from then on.
Neither have the GPS dome on the spine.
Famemaster is missing the UHF antenna. JSI has both.
Famemaster doesn't have ECM bumps on the horizontal tabs. JSI does.
Famemaster weapons array is for Air Defense only. JSI's VF-84 is the same. At least JSI got it right with their VF-154 release with bombs, targeting pod, and adapter rails..including the ones on the Phoenix pallets.

Where they got the mold, I don't know. One would think they must have used Tamiya's F-14. But that doesn't jive because Tamiya's Bombcat mold has all the correct features to a "T". Unless they decided to take some parts of Tamiya's 1978 kit and merge them into the Bombcat kit to make some sort of Frankenstein `Cat. I doubt they went through that trouble.

Considering the mish mash of features I'm inclined to think that their research photos are 70% Bombcat and 30% late 70's era very early Tomcat.

I just think they had poor research and vision on which version of a Tomcat did they want to portray
