Hey Grunt1,
is there any chance you could a purchase of just the weapons in these types of kits for customs? I would love to just get the flak 38 gun and the nebelwerfer launcher, not the trailers and mounts, etc for customs. Is something like that feasible?
Best,
-Paul

I had a similar question about the Pak 36 and mounting it on a sdkfz 251

Amazing. Now if I can just find a German flatbed truck to mount the gun on. The Indy Jones truck might work.

you know, i thought of doing that but all the trucks used as mounts seem to have been single axle not double axle like the Indy truck

Flak panzer IV Mobelwagen. Pz IV chassis with four slab armoured sides that folded down, with the gun mounted in the centre, if memory serves me correct. Got to check if the gun is the same, though. The four- barrel flak gun was also used. And they even had an 88mm gun in a similar configuration. As for the Indy truck, I might try that as a WHAT IF. Doubt if I can find a more proper truck in this scale. And for the 251, it would need a modified rear end, but I am sure PH can fashion one with enough references. A future project, maybe?

I think all Mk IV flak conversions used the single 37mm or the quad 20mm but yes they did make a few using the 88mm 8)

note the one in SPR has no shield...which looks cool.

the Panzer iv never carried just a single 20mm, to my knowledge. The Mobelwagen prototype mounted a flakvierling, but was never put into production that way. The standard mobelwagen mounted the much larger 37mm aa gun (another good project for somebody  ).

This model came out so well I couldn't resist putting it together and painting it... As a bonus, 21st Century figures fit perfectly!

I just realized the seatback is missing. It does come with the model so I must have lost it.

Thanks guys I need to put the wire basket on. Any thoughts on whether the gun and/or barrel should be metallic colored versus camouflaged? The restored ones are almost always a blued gunmetal and it's hard to tell from the B&W photos if that was the norm or always the case.

Here is what appears to be an original with the barrel painted, but the muzzle clean but weathered metal.

Oh and sorry Paul, I missed your post. It depends on what you want. I plan on splitting the trailer from the Flak to keep the price down for those that just need the gun. That will be the standard offering in the future.

As for splitting the platform from the gun as a one off, I'll see what I can do.

I've got to balance the custom requests (there are several others) with time spent on new models, finishing up ones that are half-complete like the Schwimmer, Puma, LeiG and tweaking existing ones like the no-Panzerfaust scout bike, re-scaling the Goliaths, etc..
