Armor Hobbies SdKfz 250 in 1/6 available at a super price

Post by Threetoughtrucks » Tue Jul 10, 2012 9:15 pm

The AH SdKfz 250 in 1/6 is being offered until this month end at the super price of $100 with shipping included.

This is the halftrack in 1/6 offered in a unpainted kit.

Toy Chest and Collectibles is the only dealer carrying this "250" and they sell a complete line of parts.

Besides me and a few other members of this board have this model and are very happy with them.

Standard price from TC&C for this kit is $229 and shipping. They also offer assembled models at around $300 plus shipping.

As a personal note about 6 months ago TC&C offered this halftrack at a sale price of $150 plus shipping. I bought two for an investment and sold them in a week for $225 plus shipping. I just ordered 2 as an investment.

BTW - The TC&C website does not show this low price, it shows the standard price and shipping. You just order it and mention the sale price in the "Special Instructions" box. They adjust the price and shipping before they bill you and ship. Guaranteed this is not a scam, this site owner is a "stand up guy". I've dealt with him for years without a problem.

What a great deal !!

I have two 250 kits and one painted that was damaged in the mail. :x

It sure is tempting but I am not sure if I will have a chance to work on the 2 kits I have now.

I am not sure if I want to repeat my Stuart tank hoarding phase.

I collected 19 of those and have sold almost all of those off.

But $100 with shipping ?

THAT IS A DEAL !!!!!! :D :D :D

I was almost tempted to get another one also, but after getting three broken ones in a row I decided against it. I guess it is worth it for the wheels and tracks. I did end up getting the 250 Neu in metal instead.

I've bought and sold about ten without any damage, either found or reported to me in my resales.

That does not include one tricked out that arrived trashed but that was solely due to the model maker's packing. He filled a big box with blown in insulation that he thought would be great but the insulation dried like concrete and every time the box was thrown around by the UPS gorillas something else was smashed or pulverized. What a shame....... Pickel has it now and I expect to see good things from his talented hands when he gets to it. It includes every add on accessory for the "250" from every e-tailer in the 1/6 world.

At this price, I couldn't resist a couple more as long term investments. Kinda like stocks but less money and risk is involved.... 8)

That is a fantastic deal!

I bought one of the assembled versions a few months ago from TC&C as it had the MG, gun shield, paint, and I didn't have to build it. It arrived with a broken headlight and part of the rear hull cracked (from banging during the shipping no doubt), but I've been able to repair it. Still, from the looks of it, the kit is easy to assemble and is reasonably durable. I'm happy with the SDK-250. It fits in very nicely with the Dragon and 21c 1:6 scale items.

I've got mine crewed with 6 Dragon German figures to look like something on the Eastern Front in 1941. The opening visors in the driver compartment are perhaps my favorite feature.

Here's the link to the Toy Chest & Collectable's website: http://www.toychestandcollectables.com/
(Look under "Model Kits"/"Armor Hobbies" in the menu on the left side of the screen).

This is a copy of the add that was sent to my email that had the halftrack special:

To buy, order and follow all the way and be sure to make a "Special Instruction" that you want the special sale price of $100. Everything will show as $229 + shipping BUT shortly after you place the order you will get an email confirming the $100 price.

These guys are great but you must know about the sale or else you pay the list price. We are special people...... er.... you too.

MG-42:

I noticed Phil's name on my emails about this sale, so is this good news or bad news for Armor Hobbies "250"? If Phil is dumping Armor Hobbies and will not carry them anymore, maybe that is an even better reason to buy now, as an investment?????

At Cory's open house, a few months ago, I saw the pics of his warehouse with 250's stacked floor to cieling. WOW

Nice to hear from you Mitch.

Why am I picturing a hot pink SDK 250? Either way, one of those would be good for going over all that SoCal traffic :P

Actually the Brits used a pink color on some desert warfare vehicles, so it is possible that a "250" could have been captured and repainted.

The mind boggles. 8)
