Can anybody alter these pics to a strait over head view of these Hortens ?

Usually called a plan view. I would like to see how the ringed camo pattern looks.

I would like to copy and enlarge the pattern and make an effort on making a template.

This probably should be in the original build post but this could be the start of the Horten S-2 series.

Plus the original build post has gotten kind of long.

:D

Not without distorting the image, I'm pretty sure. For example, in the bottom pic we can't see the right side of the canopy and fuselage so even if you manage to rotate the plane to an overhead view that info won't be there.

If we had commercial holography that would be one thing, as all data would be there since the image would be in 3 dimensions. For what you want, a professional photo lab could do it with someone to interpolate what should be in that area of the plane.

At any rate, its not a computer thing; its a photo imaging thing.

Be easier to take an overhead shot of the original plane in that camo. Didn't Normandy paint his like that? Have him take an overhead.

You're welcome.....and ah...it's Folkwulfe. Is it too early to start bartering for one of those FW-190A nose conversions? I'll gladly trade you photo shopping for the kit...? Well, maybe a discount....["Heeeere's the pitch....it's a screw-ball!"]

Oh...and I purposefully didn't include the swazzies on the tail. I have the same Horten 229 book you have. The remaining example has metal inlays all the way back from the jet exhausts. I doubt that paint would have been applied because it would have been burned off after engine start-up. The ones painted on the Udvar-Hazy example were added later after the A/C was moved to the US. If you want, I can add them for you.

For some reason I still can't pull up FW's layout of the S-2 pattern. But I will start on the new S-2 pattern this week ( or at least I will start the pours of the second wave of Hortens this week )

I will start pouring this week and hopefully I will start painting of the last two S-1 paint schemes and the new S-2 .

I sure do have a lot going on this month

As per PH's request, I've been trying to post the drawing of the S2 camo pattern. It appears that Webshots (where the original is stored) doesn't play well with others.....so here is an alternative. Click on the link below and it should take you to a full page view of the drawing in your web browser. Give it a try.....

Thanks FW . That is a cool looking paint scheme.

I was hoping to start a few of these ( pouring ) to get this project started.

But my supplier is out of resin.

So I will use my time wisely.

On other projects.

All of the bodies and wings are done.

So far NO AIRBUBBLES/BLISTERS in the wings.

This was a phenomenon that I had with the very first wing pours.

They usually took 2 weeks to show up ( the results of trapped air )

A quick fix by drilling tiny holes in the leading and trailing edge , but the problem was blisters showing up for air pockets that I missed.

But so far so good .

I need another 4 hours of pouring and I will have all the parts poured for all of the orders.

The one kit should be shipped at the end of this week ( it looks like I will be working with my real job the whole of this week ) and the building /painting process will start ASAP

I did fallow up pours in the wings were the roto method was a little thin.

After 2 weeks ( when the air blisters show up ) only 2 blisters appeared on the wings and those were on the same wing so progress continues.

Believe me it is a pain if a blister pops up after the wing is painted.

Believe me.
