Here is something I have been working on for about 6 months, the figures are GI joe Spytroops Mostly "nunchuck" and "cross-hairs" with parts, helmets, Armor and Weapons from Papo Romans.

Yep. Yours looks TONS better than the Papo figures. Too bad you can't get the accessories seperate. You sure put in a lot of time and $$ into the display! Thanks for the link......

dang nice work...those look awesome!! posable too!!
you got my hopes up thinking that someone was producing these for the public!

I like the Papo ones but id rather have em posable like yours...if you made, let say about 200 of them and could sell them at bbi/21st prices...id buy them!!!! ive been waiting for roman figs. right now i have to "settle" for Ignite 1/6 scale figs - but hopefully some company will make romans in 1/18 so we roman fans can army build!!!...and hopefully they will be as good as yours - awesome work!!! thanks for sharing - ive always liked your customs.
(took me awhile to sign up here from GP's, but your romans did the trick!)

DVLCE E DECORVM EST PER MILITIS ROMANVS LASCIVI
BONVS OPUS
Sweet and seemly it is to play with Roman soldiers
Good Work!
I scarcely know any Latin, but drew on what I could when creating the above phrase!
Nice

Great work tderespino! Hopefully a toy company would look at this thread and maybe get an idea of their next product line. I would love to have a fully functional chariot and my own Charleston Heston and Russell Crowe figures.

thanks

Just FYI in case you didn't know, the romans only used chariots for racing not for war. Except for the very early days of the empire when some war chariots were used but they were never considered a very effective weapon. The Romans did love to race them though! Charioteers were the superstars of their day, with all the requisite benefits that superstars receive. For the most part they live fast and died young though.....chariot racing was an exceptionally dangerous sport.
The only major use of the chariot in war was by the egyptians....they are famous for their chariot born archers. Papo also makes an egyptian chariot but it only comes with one figure instead of the 2 or 3 that were always in the real egytpian chariots and it costs a bundle...

They look awesome!! Great job, couldnt have been easy!
I just ordered 2 of the Ignite 12 inch Roman soldiers, I am very excited about them, it would be loads of fun to make diorammas with fully poseable romans.
THe wooden seige engines would be a hell of alot easier to scratch build than ww2 tanks.

Nicely done! I've always been interested in doing Roman reenacting, so it should be evident that I like Roman stuff!
Any of you guys ever see that recently released video game "Rome: Total War"?
