hay guy,

I was thinking of giving up my hobbies. i have over 6 to 7 years of collecting, i have everthing in 1:18 scale from xd to some bbi

I just feel that my life is turning into a rut. work job i hate, ect.

mebe letting go of the past in my hobbies, will let me move forward.

i will mist it a lot. but you know we always have to move on.

my be after getting rid of this, i start pushing myself to do better, at my jobs, ect.

hey man, if I were you I would just put stuff into storage for a while like into a closet far away from the workplace stuff or far from a desk at home. I mean you might regret giving up all your stuff later on, I know I would.

This way you can dig up your collection to mess with anytime you want, but since its in the closet far away from work stuff, your priority is your job stuff. I mean 6-7 years of collecting? Itd be a shame to let go of all that all at once ya know? I say keep it dude!

i have a majority 90% of everthing box.

i just felt a little bum, burn out about life nonchanging stuff.

sorry did not mean to rant,

just need some releaf.

i will most likely box everything up and store it away, will still buy but never open it. my collection will go to my children, or my dog.

Hey, don't give up your collection if your job is what is bumming you out. I know I don't really know much about your life or your current situation, but if you're in a rut at your job, then maybe you should change jobs.

I know that when my job has me bummed out, my hobbies are what take my mind off of it. Also, I have gotten burned out on hobbies, but I usually just take a break from them and then come back later on. Case in point, I built models when I was younger, but then I gave it up and got rid of most of my collection. Sure enough, about 8 years later I got back into it and had to buy alot of my kits a second time. My interest for modeling has waned a bit again (after building about 30 kits in the past 5 years) but I am not going to sell my collection again because I know I'll come back to it at some point.

Life and interests are often cyclical. You'll get into something, then grow tired of it and then later on your interest will come back. Just my two cents and I hope that things get better for you whatever you decide to do.

I agree with everyone here-DO NOT GET RID OF YOUR COLLECTION! It may cost you alot of moren money to get it back if you change your mind in a few years!
There's a lot of pressure holding down a job, marriage, etc. now a days. It's always-go go go, eat-sleep-go back to work. It gets us down-gives us a case of depression! If this continues, call your doctor! You may have a mild case of depression that your doctor can help you with.

Sometimes it does help to simplify your life and concentrate on priorities, like family, friends and job.

Whether you store your collection or give it away, best of luck with your plans. If you do decide to let go of your collection, maybe donate it to a charity where some less-than-fortunate young boys may enjoy the toys (and you'd have some gratification about helping someone else out) Also if you do decide to let your collection go now, I'm sure that the 1:18th line will still be going strong if you want to get back into it later.

Have you ever thought about taking a hobby you really enjoy and creating a career around it?? I am not meaning XD specifically, but if there is some hidden or not so hidden talent that you may utilize to go into another career direction?
Sometimes you have to move on with a job or way of life to find a better one. Two other things you might try, prayer and advice from a good friend or family member.
Getting rid of the your XD items won't make your job better. Getting rid of your job may make your XD better!

Black Dragon - I think I know how you feel, and a change may be in order for your own peace of mind. While my advice should stick to toys, I say if you have to sell a few pieces do it. This will perhaps give you seller's remorse and give you some perspective on your other stuff. It will also give you some quick cash for other endeavors.

OR Put it all away for a long time and don't hang out with us or on the other sites. "Break-up" with the hobby for a while and see if you are better for it. For some time you might be as you find productive things to do with your time. But down the line if you need to retreat to small scale soldiers to relax then you will know it is everything but the soldiers that have you in the rut. Take some time off from the game!

i guest the only thing that brought me some comfort right now. is looking forwar to the new thing coming down the line.

I just got demoted and it felt really bad.

Even though i work really hard I did not get the promotion and some one who kiss as got it. My X- boss who has know nothing, listen to the old crowney. I know what i must do but, it is still hard to do it. the uncertainty make it that way. I guest it is an adventure from now on.

any way I be looking for that bright light 7th ranger.

I am just strees out.

Remember to put work in perspective. I get pretty burned out with my job quite often these days. Anybody in the military feels the stress and when you get deployed for 120+ days at a shot away from home, it can take it's toll. HOWEVER, work isn't everything. I have the same problems you do with kiss-ass yes-men. This is the military, you know. And yes, I get really ticked about it. It IS my job. I want to make SMSgt, but due to politics, it probably won't happen. I had to sit down and really list what was important. I had a lot of time in the desert to do this. In the big picture, does it all really matter? I don't think so. You take your stab at success and if it doesn't work out, so what!! There are a lot of people in worse shape, with nothing. And you know, many of them are legitimately happy.
In the end, if you bring home the money, you are winning the game. Enjoy what you like to do and turn off the TV! Play some music, look up at the planes and relax. A shift in attitude does wonders!!!

I guest this is a learning exprance. I have been focuse on nothing but work for the last 6 month since the company restructure and cut were made

if i could i would have taken off to hawii, but now i just have a bbq by myself.

There is one thing you can be sure of when you've hit rock bottom, the only way you can go is up! Just when you think the job is eating your life, something turns up that makes you smile. Time for a change. Line up another job, then walk into current your job and fire your boss!
That should put a huge smile on your face. As for the collection, do what makes you happy. Take a little time to think about it. I personally have made quite a few friends here and I am glad to
be a part of this forum. I hope your situation allows you to continue collecting. It has been great for most of us here. Take care.

any got a job interview today. not what i wanted but it did put my life in perseptive. i have my health, and not a lot of dept

so i can move on with out worried.

Glad to see your feeling a bit better about things. I hope it all works out and I know what you mean about not always being able to find someone in your family to talk to. I buy these toy/model airplanes because: 1. I cant build/paint models 2. I always wanted things like this. 3. Theyre affordable. 4. I get a bit of pleasure out of looking at them. 5. They arent super collectable or tough to assemble, just fun. I stopped collecting toy trains & baseball cards because the cost took the fun out of it. If you dont want your stuff, give me squadron of Spitfires!

Since you think your life is getting you down and you don't know what to do ? Listen up. I just recently had to give up a good job because my mother is in the hospital. COPD, A serious respiratory condition which could kill her anytime. I'm tellin' ya, the only thing holding my sanity is my hobby. The very toys that I love besides my dear mother,"bless her heart". So take a look on the bright side of life and hang on to the stuff you got, cause you'll only regret it to add to the misery later............
