Replicating the F-14 Landing Gear

I have been having a lot of inquiries about making the replacement landing gear for the F-14.

Picking up after the now infamous Sky-----

These landing gear were not made by the proprietor of that now defunct web company.

He may have plotted the design of it but the originals were either made with a 3D printer or CNC machine.

Then they were subed out to a metal caster which they were made.

They were plenty complicated being used statically 3-4 more times complicated if they were to function.

That is why they were never made that way.

I do not have the savvy to plot a computer in 3D mode nor do I have a printing bot.

But I do know how to make moulds and copy parts.

I also know a guy who makes metal toy figures. He uses the heat vulcanising for his molds. They are put into a high speed spinner and the metal is melted poured into the middle of the mould and with centrifical force the metal fills the moulds.

I have lost contact with him after the storm. But he could be around.

So if anybody has any original Sky----- landing gear and is willing to send them to me so I can replicate them.

Maybe I could.

Of course after the never ending Horten project.

This will go on the list if ever the Horten project finishes.

If I had a set I could copy them.

I had thought about just casting the original landing gear in metal. The original gear is not to scale, but you would have the ability to fold them up. Maybe just a dream.

I'm working on a carrier tractor at the moment. Just plotted out the cad files and looking for suitable tires. When I find those I'll start forming the body.

I have a set of nozzels Jack was selling off. They are the defect version, but they don't look bad. They have the typical resin bubbles. Maybe something be done with them?

Pizzaguy,
A flight deck carrier tractor? 1/18? could be a nice selling success!
