ComicCon 05 was definately worth the trip out west!

I wanted to share some good news with the board.
I was fortunate enough to get time off work and traveled out west to attend ComicCon 2005. 21st had a huge booth with a lot of products on display. While there I purchased a German F-104 Star fighter & the Günther Rall 109. I had a terrific time in San Diego and returned home satisfied with my two new aircraft.
Well, after returning home I was notified by 21st that my name (I had entered my name for a raffle prize) had been drawn as a winner

for the exclusive 21st Century P-51 mustang called “Nuthin’ but Trouble”. I was informed that the P-51 would be a unique paint scheme designed and painted by Roy Sutherland himself. The mustang will be an official 21st Century bird complete with certificate of authenticity on 21st Century Toys letterhead signed by the respective parties. What makes this aircraft so unique is that there will only be one made. I am pretty sure this will be one of the “new mold” mustangs.
In September I received a letter saying that my new mustang will be shipping out to me in October.
I created a webshots account and will most definitely post pictures when I receive the prize.
I am so

stoked

that I won this from 21st. I am grateful and am anxiously awaiting the sound of a brown UPS truck pulling in my driveway.
Will keep you all posted as I get more information.

It's nice to see one of our own winning the big prize!
Well Done!
Hey 21st Century-
We Midwesterners would love to see your new stuff UP CLOSE. Have a convention out here in Ohio or Kentucky. Heck, you could even use my garage and driveway. Just give me advance notice and I can clean it out a bit.

It was fun for me as well. I really had a blast meeting AREA-21 fans and on more than one occasion someone from the boards would come up and intoduce themselves. I really was happy for John when 21st drew his name out of the "Prize Box" for the one of a kind piece! -Too cool, and it couldn't have happend to a better guy who had traveled so far to come see the booth!
Everyone who won prizes were very deserving and appreciative! I am sure more things like that will be in store in the future. I will know when John gets close to having his new pride and joy. As my signature will join Roy Sutherlands and I think even the CEO's on the certificate.
From what I understand Roy has a ton of "easter eggs" that are personal to his modeling heritage adorning the airplane.
Can't wait to see it John! Congratulations.

This exclusive P-51 has been with me for some time now.
Life & work has kept me pretty busy so please forgive me for not posting earlier.
I was fortunate to have won the raffle for the grand prize at the 2005 ComicCon in San Diego, CA.
Roy Sutherland @ 21st Century did a fantastic job on this one of a kind.
A big thanks goes out to 21st Century Toys & AREA 21. I had a wonderful time at ComicCon 05
Enjoy the pics.

So is this a retooled Mustang?

Great piece of work. Proof positive that attending these shows has some residual value.
I don't recall seeing this p-51 in any reference material. Is this based on an actual plane or is it made up (and if it was an actual plane, is Roy Sutherland related to his namesake on the canopy)?

That is a great looking P-51. I really like that paint scheme, and the prop blades are not bent back!

That is an awesome paintjob and would certainly be worth the wait - especially since its a retooled Mustang as well. Roy even included a little weathering!

Congrads on the Mustang. It looks excellent, however, you won't find a profile of it anywhere, hehehehe.....

There are quite a few personal meanings behind that scheme that Roy did. Check out the icon on the canopy next to his name. Look at it real close.
It is the ILM model department logo. Roy used to do modeling work for ILM on Episode II. Also someone else already picked up on the 21 C for the code.
From what I understnad there are others.
Awesome job scoring that plane John! I hope you enjoy it.
