I know we have a predominantly a WW2 forum here , but is there any interest in a 1/18 scale MRAP ?

It is aprx. 1/3 bigger than the HUMVEE in height and length.

Almost two to one in favor of the MRAP.

There are some behind the scenes action going on with this potential project .

Somethings need to be put in place which have started ( by others ).

But this is far into the future.

A lot more mod projects will come before the MRAP.

Things that everybody will be able to afford. :D

Any more interest ?

MRAP for sure! There's been a lot of new developments in modern military gear that 21C and BBI and others never kept up with. Obviously the demise of certain companies didn't help, but BBIs coming MH-60 is missing the sensors and fuel probes; none of the humvees out there have the up-armor or turrets; and FOV keeps putting those Bradleys in Target when other armored vehicles like the MRAP are really becoming the new workhorses. Well, I suppose that's where the mighty Pickel comes in - to make up for the shortcomings of the big dogs :)

I think all of the MRAPs look menacing. They'd be sweet in 1/18, but looking at them-boy that's a lot of of little details for you to sculpt, Pickel! You might strain your cornea trying to find every notch, rivet, bulge, etc.

Well, yes and no. The vehicle is very impressive (I prefer the 4 wheel version) and the number of pics showing the MRAP in Afghanistan is now growing. But, considering the melting amount of money for my hobby, I would prefer to only fit my 3 humvees with turrets, reinforced doors and front and I prefer diorama pictures with more than just 1 vehicle. With 1 MRAP, I will also have to replace a lot of stone/olive desert camouflaged soldiers with the more modern digital camo figures...

Parrish, Wikipedia said that only a part of the Nightstalker MH-60 are fitted with a fuel probe, but I agree, the pylon mounted heavy MGs are really missing, the FOV Bradley is poor in comparison with the 21st C. version. Why do these manufacturers only copy each other (see the Abrahams, LAV), instead of other models?

I don't know if i am wrong, but this huge truck looks like the size of a tank.It probably make the German armor car look like a midget.
I would think that with the amount of resin, parts and labor it will cost as the armor car kit or more.I would like to see and buy the sdKfz 234 (Puma)
