FYI they're super easy to use and I just went for the basic capabilities. They can be easily shaped and cut. Haven't tried painting them yet - that's trickier I think (i.e. they're styrofoam) but they give tips on the box.

I discovered these right at the end of the period when I was building structures for my GWOT dio. They're really quite neat, especially when combined with other building materials like foam core board (to make floors and roofs) and balsa stick and sheet (to make window and door frames and doors and other details. White glue (Elmers) also works just fine with them.

One of these days (!) I'll go back to dio building and will be using them extensively.

Take some wall plaster and tint it tan or something. Then put that all over it but leave the bricks exposed in areas! That would look good!

If you're wanting to paint them as-is, I'd think watered down craft paint like Apple Barrel would work without harming the foam.

Thanks all for the tips (balsa sheet, wall plaster, paint). flyboy - did you mean actual 1:1 wall plaster? Or a different product that looks like that in 1:18 application? I always forget to use real-world actual representations of things! For example, "hmmm, what's the best way to make this 1:18 rock formation..plaster...foam...paper mache....?....oh, yeah, I could go outside and grab a rock!"

I mainly posted this here just to inform people that don't know about Project Bricks but lament not having many cool 1:18 buildings. If I can use them, anybody can. What I built above was done in about 3 hours, and I had no experience.
