Just saw the interview on the 21st C fan site. And it was interesting. There was mentioned a new 1/18th scale armor vehicle to be released in the spring. Maybe a T34 or an M1A1 Abrams. What do you guys think it might be? 8)

SHERLOCK HOLMES COULD WORK THIS OUT ON PAST EVIDENCE. WE KNOW IT IS WW11, THE NEXT MAIN POINT, IT MUST HAVE RE-PAINT OPTIONS OF AT LEAST 3 VARIATIONS. GUESSING SIZE IS ALWAYS AN ISSUE LIKE IN CERTAIN PLANES, THEREFORE ONLY AVERAGE REAL LIFE ITEMS WILL BE CONSIDERED (THERE GOES MY 8TON PRIME MOVER). HIGH % THE ITEM WILL HAVE ALREADY BEEN DONE IN THEIR 1/32 LINE & THERE IS LITTLE SCOPE FOR OTHER THAN GERMAN (MY FAVOURITE) AS AGAIN SEEN IN THE BULK OF 1/32 LINE. ROY REFERRED TO US 'ARMOR' GUYS & I THINK THE PIECE IN HIS MIND IS IN FACT ARMOR, OTHERWISE IF IT WAS ANYTHING ELSE HE WOULD HAVE SAID 1/18 COLLECTORS WILL BE HAPPY OR SOME SUCH. NOT EVEN A SUPER COMPUTER CAN COMPETE WITH ALL THE BRAIN POWER AT OUR DISPOSAL SO WE CAN WORK THIS OUT. FOR NOW I AM GOING BACK TO 2001 WHEN FOR EVERY 2ND DAY FOR SIX MONTHS I LOOKED AT ONE ENTRY ON THE 21ST CENTURY WEB SITE WHICH SHOWED AN ITEM NO & A LARGE SQUARE BELOW IT WITH NO IMAGE AVAILABLE & THE CAPTION NEXT TO THE ITEM NO. SAID...." SDKFZ 221 " WHICH IS THE ARMORED CAR ALREADY IN 1/32 LINE. THEY MUST HAVE HAD A PROTO-TPYE AT THAT TIME, WHICH IS HALF THE BATTLE. 21ST WILL TAKE THE MOST ECONIMAL ROAD WHICH MEANS THEY WILL TAKE THE OPTION TO FINISH IT OFF. OF COURSE THIS THEORY WOULD HAVE BEEN BLOWN OUT OF THE WATER LAST OCTOBER WHEN THE MARK 1V CAME OUT OF NO-WHERE. NOW I PASS THE BATON ON TO SOMEONE ELSE. GOODLUCK. COME ON SPRING.

While the Scout car would bee too cool--variety is the spice of life. But, I think the tread heads will get what they want and there will be a King Tiger.

King Tiger.

But I would sure love to see that 8 ton Prime Mover towing a 88mm gun or a US High Speed Tractor towing a 155 Long Tom or 240mm Howitzer.....but honestly I've spent all day at a family party for my first grandcrumbsnacher and the smoke may have gone to my head.

How about the M3 Half-track converted to a M-16 with a quad .50....but then again I would sure like to see an M-16 quad in 1/6, or re-release of the 1/6 WSC but then with the smoke and beer maybe I should go to bed.

Centone: Call 311, Mr. Dopey and his ice cream truck is only allowed to stand in one spot for three minites and then he has to shut off the music or leave the block....New city law, works great on SI, law works much better than the other one about fireworks being eliminated. Fireworks on SI this year sounded louder than Tet in VN. First time in my life I had to go the Brooklyn side of the Macy's fireworks show for some quiet.

I hope it's the King Tiger. I'd like to see the 2 1/2 ton Dodge truck or the DUKW too.

Kevin:

The 2 1/2 truck and the DUKW were GMC produced, not Dodge. Studebaker made the 2 1/2 truck also but Dodge didn't make bigger than 1 1/2 trucks for the Army, and we have the 1 1/2 ton Dodge now.

I think too much of us would also want a 2 1/2 ton truck or DUKW. We must all be dreaming. Chances are slim for the foreseeable future. :?

I also think it will be a Konigstiger to be followed by Jagdtiger  I can wish can't I? After all 21st did the King and Jagdtiger in 1/32nd so it would make sense to do them both in 1/18th or does that make to much sense?
What if they did the T-34 that would be cool and a SU-100 both having the same chassis. Who says armor doesn't sell? Bring it on!!! Ok just kidding around. I'd be very happy to see any new armor, A Kingtiger would be fine.
Oh... I'm almost finished with my Jagdpanzer IV about 2 weeks more should do it, I'll get pic up when its done.

Hate to speculate as I'm usually way off, but I think either a King Tiger, M1A1, or T-34 are possible.

I would love to see a Jagdpanther, SDK-222, M-5, and M-24.

Only a pipe dream but I'd love to get my grubby little mits on a M18 Hellcat with full crew. I love the 1:32 version w/all the open turret detail and all my German armor needs something other than a wimpy Sherman to tangle with.

Maybe 21st could beat FOV and produce a 1:18 M26 Pershing? A Churchill or a Comet would be nice. Perhaps any armored car such as a German Sk222 or a 8 wheeler or even a US M8 would be cool. My personal favorite, The M3(not M5) light tank would be a nice addition to go with the Marine and Jap figures 21st is putting out.

Just as a guess, I would say the M5. They already make it in 1/6 and 1/32nd so it wouldn't require any additional research. My choice though would be a Tiger II or a Pershing.

I'd be happy with any new armor, but I'm also betting it'll be the King Tiger. Looking forward to it!!!

The problem with any vehicle like the M-18 Hellcat is that 21C has no choice, it must come with a detailed turret. The turret is all open and the interior detail must be shown. Can't save money with a detailed turret.

A hundred years ago the former Yugoslavia government gave a M-18 to an armor museum here in the Northeast. As a suprise, they restored it, working radios, ammo lining the turret, every nut and bolt was removed and restored, painted and put back together. A ceramony was planned on the Brooklyn docks when the container ship brought the tank here and I was the first one on the ship to go looking among the containers for the tank (rest of the guys went to the Captain's cabin for alot of vodka toasts). I pulled back the turret canvas cover and thought I'd gone to heaven. Spent a half hour trying to figure out how to smuggle off the ship a .50 cal and a couple of live cannon shells under my jacket. Gave up on that idea, but what a great vehicle.

Oh, and by the way, the next week at Aberdeen the museum brought the Hellcat to the East Coast Rally and some smart Army guys thought it would be a good show for the Army to compare the Hellcat to a M1 Abrams on the live fire demonstration. They had a race around a track and the Hellcat left the M-1 in it's dust. Bad idea for the Army, their newest tank shown up by a 50 year old WW2 tank.

What a great idea for a 1/18 21C. :)

That is a good idea. Its one of my favorite 32x pieces! Great story, too, TTT! I think the fact that the M-18 was designed with very thin armor and a powerful engine helped it to win the race. M-18s couldn't stand up to any offensive fire, but they sure could move.

Personally I'd like to see some more Allied Armor, I think we've seen more than enough German stuff for now.

Something British would be nice if you ask me, or a German Armored Car.

A nice British tank would be appreciated and a bright light of hope for those of us wanting some Brit figures too.

At this point in time, I'll take whatever armor is produced. We've had a dry spell for quite some time. :D
