i'm hoping to convert a tonka road grader into a wwii era road grader. So far i haven't found anything helpful, principally because i don't know the names of any graders used during the war. About all i've found out is that most of them had no cab.

Any help appreciated......TTT, that means you. :)

My library has little on construction vehicles. I will check but my circle of MV owners does not include anyone finding big equipment like graders interesting enough to restore. I'll check.

There is one book that would fill your bill that you would have to buy:

" ENGINEERS' CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT - How to use all types of WW2 Army construction equipment, including bulldozers, graders, shovels, etc, etc. Characteristics and capabilities of specific pieces of equipment. Heavily illustrated. High quality full reprint of a very RARE World War Two US Army Corps of Engineers manual. With 3 pullout charts. 276 pages. Limited quantity. #TM 5-252 ... $39 "

Offered by Portrayal Press. -

A reproduction printing firm specializing in military vehicles. They have been around longer than I've been in the hobby (1976). Used to be located in NJ, not sure where they are now.

I've dealt with them forever.
