Does Anybody Want Any More Russian Stuff ?

Post by pickelhaube » Thu Oct 20, 2011 11:34 am

Hey Guys,

I got off early today and I am relaxing before I have to go out to the XD salt mine.

As some of you may know I have put out the1/18th scale T-34/76 and that was a great success.

Then I put out the T-34/85 and that sold OK not as good as the 76 but worth doing. I had all intentions of doing the Su-85 but backed off because the interest wain or things are just too tight right now for some of us to invest in these customs.

I had all of intentions of doing a couple of GAZ's The AA and AAA. The AAA would have had the rocket launchers as an option.

I would have also would like to have done the Russian armored car . It kind of looks like the German Sdkfz 222.

Is there still interest in the Russian stuff or has interest wained on that line ?

I need a reconnaissance vehicle for my small Russian army.It is going to look good right between my t-34/76 and t-34/85!
I have so much German and U.S. armor, everything repaint and some small variations like the hanomags, that it gets old.I love German armor but it gets to a point where there is enough. There is tooo much of the same!
I am glad that some one is thinking in making something else besides U.S or German.I have seen pictures of the Russian armor car and you are right,it looks similar to the German sdk 222. The Russians copy the design from a capture one.Just the same way the Germans copy the T-34
I will like to see also some British tanks and maybe a Japanese tank
Yes i know this where inferior tanks, but they fight bravely and where part of history.
Count me in and if you decided to make it,i will send my deposit to help pay for the molds.

After your 229, I think I am done buying 1:18 for a while. I went a little crazy recently with the 1:6 scale stuff, so I need to slow it down. I really liked that GAZ truck you were showing, but the Russian stuff is hard with no readily available figures.

If you're talking about new builds I think a Yak-3 or Yak-9 would be awesome.

I think the Gaz would be great, but if theres not enough interest, it probably would'nt be worth the effort.

I believe there's a BIG community of PC Flight Simulator enthusiasts who love this ongoing series called IL-2 STURMOVIK. There might be interest beyond our little 1:18 bubble for this plane for those who enjoy the IL-2 Sturmovik video games. She's a great plane with great paint schemes. The Ilyushin maybe of worthy consideration...
