Isn't there a GI Joe that has this as a weapon? has there ever been a list made of Joes (or any other figure in approx 1/18) that were issued with accurate WWII weapons or accessories? Chime in all you Joe experts!!

I asked the same question a while ago; the new grenadier figure looks like he comes with both a FG-42 and a M56 smart gun.

Yes, the new figure posted above has an FG-42 rendition. So does the two Paraviper variants:

I don't know of a list of Joe WWII weapons, but generally the Joe representations aren't the best scaled. For example there's this Rock 'n Roll with an oversized .30 cal (though not too bad):
http://www.yojoe.com/action/07/rocknroll8.shtml ; and this one with an over-sized MG-42:
http://www.yojoe.com/action/08/ssgtrocknroll.shtml ; and this Stalker with an oversized MP-40:
http://www.yojoe.com/action/07/sgtstalker9.shtml
A couple versions of the Crimson Guard fig have a rifle (Garand?) and pistol that look to be WWII-era:
http://www.yojoe.com/action/08/crimsonguard10.shtml
Red Star had one of the very few Ppsh-41s out there, though it seems oversized to me:

If you click on the "All Geared Up" Links in the links above you can see the scale in comparison to the figure a bit better.
Generally the 21C and BBI versions, and especially anything by Dragon in 1/18 are the best versions of WWII weapons out there. Though probably those would be harder to find loose.
http://www.marauderinc.com has high-quality well-scaled weapons, but WWII-era is a bit lacking; they have a nice MG-34, Luger, and .45 pistol, PPK, and Mauser.
The Indiana Jones line had a few items as well - I think the Russian officer had a Tokarev that's nice.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head; I'm sure there's more. If there's a specific one you're looking for I may be able to recall something. The board member Jesse James could surely tell you what Star Wars weapons are WWII or WWII-inspired.

The stormtroopers heavy blaster is a blatant modified MG34 and their blaster is a british lancaser SMG (I think). Am I right Jesse?

Not sure, the best one may be the 21st century german paratrooper, just looking for a cheaper option, I have several red star figures, the papa shaw is very cool! I think its great for eastern front german figs, they loved that gun, much better gun than the mp40
