a long shot i know but i'm wanting to put together a little 'black hawk down' type diorama and i need some Somalis. Basically some civilian dressed, cool dude type black guy figures wearing berets, bandanas, or sunglasses would do.
Anything? I know there's a GI Joe guy (heavy duty?) but he's awfully muscular looking....would prefer a more average build.

Are you thinking of "Road Block"...the one with the Ma-deuce?
"Stalker" was average build and one of the original "JOEs".
"Doc" was average build as well.

hm.....that Doc figure isn't bad. Could maybe work with that. Don't have to be GI Joe figures. Any figs that i can use as Somali militia would do....Joes are just what i figured would be the best source.

Indiana Jones figures... Gotta do some painting and headswapping obviously, but IJ had a number of figures, some you can (or should anyway) be able to get for really cheap, that would work well as guys in "civilian dress" type duds. RPG Indy is, was, and always will be one of the best generic custom bases out there IMO.

I also have a project, need some pseudo-civilian figures. It should be the PTE patrol boat (the one with the cokpit at the rear) overflied by a Cobra, somewhere in the indian ocean. I found this picture for a pirat, from the GI Joe series. Sorry, I can't remeber the name. But I haven't got the boat and have only one pirate until now. Perheaps you could modify 21st Century Vietnam war black american (there is 1 figure) and there is a BBI afro-american, with no assault vest, only a waistcoat or a bulletproof jacket, as I remember. More expensive than tweeting GI Joe figure...
