Panther Skirtzen Accepting Orders Now !!

Post by pickelhaube » Sun Sep 11, 2011 4:06 pm

I was sorting through my stuff that I got from Crazy Texas to give to Crazy Kraut and I found my set of Panther skirting.

I had planned to cast these and make duplicates but it took me so long to make them up that I just sent them out when they are done.

Well I shot a coat of primer on the for the photo op and they look pretty good.

They are scored and have the rivet tab on the face. i made clips on the back of the skirts so they just clip on the Panther firm.

They could stand to be thinned out on the edges a little. I will do that before I cast them. ( If I cast them )

Cost $10-$15

Any interest ?

another idea you might want to consider PH is to make some track links for the sides of the Panther's turret, as was often done late war to give extra armour protection.

Those look cool 8)

On a completely unrelated note, what ever happened to that cool set of Panzer IV schurtzen you made a while back? I'd be even more interested in those

These are all good ideas as well.

I have full intentions of doing a Panther line of modifications in the future.

But these are made now and I was gardening interest.

I have one of the Panzer skirts. The other one is MIA

I'll take two sets of the skirtzen when they are available. Bought from you before, but can't recall your payment info. PM me and I'll get the payment to you.

Pickel: Did you ever make the side armor/Skirtzen for the Panzer IV? I think most of us have the US release with the mounting bars but no Skirtzen. I think it was only the European release that also had them?

I have made my version of the Mk. IV side skirts but I can not find one of the sets

But what I can do is COPY the Euro version and offer that.

Any interest in that ? Should be about the same prices .

I'd be interested in a set for the Panzer IV as well.

I do have an example made several years ago by Gary1930 which are good, but my skirtzen are showing their age and have been broken & repaired a couple times.

I'd like to see what Pickelhaube can do/improve upon with the 21c examples 8)

When you cast them you can not make then too thin.

They will be thicker than scale. The master is 2 mils thick. I will do my best to make the edges 1 mil thick but leave the main body of the part at 2 mils for strength .

The Panther skirts are up for sale.

$15 A SET PLUS ABOUT $6 FOR SHIPPING.

Before I make the casts I WILL ADD EXTRA ANGLE/ CLIPS ON THE BACK SO EACH PANEL COULD BE CUT AND HANG INDIVISUALLY  :D :D

Matthew, count me in for one set of the panther skirts please.
The sign of a great model is that one’s eye is not drawn to any one feature, yet one can study it for hours and continually find something new.

I altered the clips on the back of the skirts. Although I did not take any pics of the alteration..

I also thin out the skirts on the edges so they do not look as thick.

When I made the clips I made them behind the little square on the face of the skirts.

What I did is placed additional clips next to the original ones so that they skirts can be cut in sections and hang individually.
