Simple avenger wing sag fix (or improvement)

Post by mikeg » Sun Sep 04, 2011 5:53 pm

I just used some old brake bleeding valve diameter pliable line, cleaned it, sliced it down the middle and inserted them between most of the lower contact points at the wing joints- I think this can be easily improved upon, thicker diameter line would help even more. I did this on my blue 28, easily among the worst of the saggers. One of the triangular covers would not stay up, but I would rather leave both down in trade for the wings staying up

that's pretty cool idea. The simplest fix i know of is to hang it by its wings...problem solved. Of course this doesn't help if you want it on its u/c.
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

I need to hang her by the wings! I hate how saggy they are. Great fix!!! They are supposed to go up actually. Just a bit.

I know, maybe double up a piece or pieces and raise the wings a little more-

Good idea.

I used a small piece of toothpick inserted into the join. Same idea to simply wedge it up.

Thanks for the great tip, mikeg...I've been looking at my Avengers' sagging wings since I got them - Maybe this will motivate me to prop 'em up!
