Boy would I love to see...

An AC-130U gunship made in the 1:18 scale. Now that would be one awesome piece of work. Ain't nothing wrong with a 105 howitzer on a cargo plane....=)

What about the 40mm Borfors gun alongside the 105.

In VN we had "Puff the Majic Dragon" - a C-47 with two milti barrel machine guns and it would come over at night and fire into the jungle where we knew the VC had a trail. Something to see. You couldn't see the plane but when the guns fired you saw a steady stream of tracers into the jungle. Once in a while they hit a rock and the tracers bounced back into the sky.

I took some slide pictures but all that came out was a stream of tracer in a line accross the screen.

Sorry to say we won't see a gunship in 1/18, just too big.

How about a 1/72 scale? :-)

My Gosh!!!
Now that is one heck of a model build. Kinda sad that it looks like an A-model but hey, beggars can't be chosers. I like the idea of building it in 1:32 though. I realive 1:18 would be rediculously huge but a 1:32 wouldn't be too big I don't think. Rough guess, about the size of the 1:18 blackhawk or the f-18.
Oh the times I had on the AC-130's. Now that was one of the better times in my life. MH-53J was kinda fun to work on too. Now that would be a neat 1:18 scale helo. =)
