New info on this event. This from The Sixth Division:
"Gentlemen,
Negotiations have been completed regarding 21st Century Toys's sponsorship donation to Esprit de Corp Weekend '05. This sponsorship represents several thousand dollars in product to given to 1/6 collectors, veterans and the general public alike. ALL Esprit de Corp Weekend participants will be elidgible for these prizes, and most everyone will take home at least $60 in product value just for attending and participating. The prizes will be awarded as follows:
1) RC Stuart tank to be awarded to the participant who travels the furthest distance to attend EdC'05. Winners to be determined by Map Quest.
1)RC Stuart Tank to be awarded to the winner of the RC Stuart tank obstacle course competition. The Stuarts used in this competition will be provided for the contest by 21st. and be given out as awards afterwards. This was the only way that an evaluation of RC tank skills can be evaluated fairly because all the tanks will be the same. No privately owned tanks will be permitted to enter this contest.
1) RC Stuart will be donated to the local V.F.W. post to be auctioned/raffled to benefit the post.
1) RC Stuart to be given to the participant who has the " Most Troops Attending - Allied" Documentation of troop totals required.
1) RC Stuart to be given to the participant who has the " Most Troops Attending - Axis" Again, documentation of troop total required.
1) RC Stuart will be given by drawing to a current service member or veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In addition, we have several 1/32 scale XD items to be given out as 2nd place prizes in this category, including Shermans, Tigers Jeeps, weapons carriers etc.
The first 50 participants who pre-register and sign in on battle day ( Sunday 9 Oct) will recieve a 1/18 scale XD aircraft ( a $60 value). We have Spitfires, ME 109's, FW 190s, P-47's and Huey Helicopters to choose from. Those who get there earliest will be given their choice of these aircraft.
All particpants who attend, pre-registered or otherwise, will be elidgeable for one of eleven 1/6 scale vehicles to be determined by random drawing. These vehicles include jeeps, PAK 40's, Kubels, and Command Cars.
In addition an interactive " Assemble Your Own Figure" site will be erected for free 1/6 scale figures to be given out to children in the appropriate age groups. This addition will be limited to the first 100 figures.
As you can see, this represents a sizable donation, and to the best of my knowledge, no other manufacturer has ever made an overture of a similar nature before. Most, if not all 1/6 scale events, are designed to make money for the etailers and manufacturers and are not designed to give back to the hobby community in appreciation for their support and business. 21st Century is making decided efforts to re involve themselves with the 1/6 scale community and is doing so in a big way, with this level of sponsorship.
So come one, come all and be a part of the largest diorama ever created, and honor our veterans at the same time!!
The event is in Leesburg Va., Columbus Day Weekend, Oct 8-9 2005, and is free to particpants and the general public alike. There will be an opening ceremony with speakers, and an honor guard and the diorama will be open to the public from noon tom 5p.m. on battleday. Don't miss out on your chance to win one of these great giveaways! Those who have already registered need not do so again. For more information and to pre-register please visit the Esprit de Corp Weekend 05 Website at

This event is not to be missed............"
Looks better and better.
