I rather like the Nashorn, but for something not on the list, would you consider a Stug IV? We've got a shortage of Stugs of any variant in 1:18 and those were the most-produced of any German tank (well, at least the Stug III was  ) A Stug IV could be done as a complete top shell and grafted onto the bottom shell of one of those Chinese 1:18 Panzer IV knock-off tanks that are easily available. Then there's also the Jagdpanzer IV which could be made in similar fashion...

Just a thought 8)

If you do the Nashorn, the Hummel is a no brainer, and visa versa...

The hun already made a Jagdpanzer IV kit

I do love me a Mobelwagen, no doubt, you already made the quad 20mm so I think its an easy one for you pickel. Plus if you are going to make the Ostwind you will have to make the 37mm gun anyway so really you could offer the Mobelwagen with either gun, both are authentic.

the flakvierling is no good for the mobelwagen. Only one prototype had it. Most other mobels had 37mm guns. But it's time PH made a 37mm gun anyway. Lots of uses for it.

The problem wth a mobelwagen conversion is the upper hull of the panzer iv is cut away. A tricky mod.

I tend to lean towards the Nashorn. Pickelhaube, what is the scale of the Nashorn you are showing, I'm guessing 1/35?

Yes that is 1/35 scale.

The Hun did a Stug and Gary 1930 did a Brumbar.

I feel that I could do a good rendition of each but they have been done.

That 38 mm is long overdo. It could stand by itself put on a back of a Sdkfz 251 and mounted in a Panzer.

I was hoping for more votes on the kugle of all the things in the poll , that would be the easest ( and cheapest ) to do.

As far as the Stug and Brumbar are concered , if there is a demand for me to do it. I will .

Of course after the T-34 , Ho-229, 105 Howitzer , HUMVEE upgrades, SU-85 ...............................................

I guess the kugleblitz is just too rare for my tastes. Very cool though! 8)
PH, I would kill to see you do some more affordable small weapons.

the 37mm was not mounted on the 251. The chassis wasn't strong enough to take its weight plus the recoil. It was the sdkfz 7/2 that munted the 37mm. Plus the mobelwagen, ostwind. It can also be a stand alone gun. So you'd get lots of use out of one.

Am I missing something? The SdKfz 251 did successfully mount the 37mm gun, the 75mm short barrel and the 75mm long barrels. I don't understand the comment that the SdKfz 251 could not take the weight and the recoil of a 37mm gun??

BTW - I voted for the Nashhorn, a great piece with a fierce reputation.

I believe he is referring to the 37mm Flak 43, not the 37mm Pak 36/37 you are referring to.

yes i was referring to the flak 37mm....i hadn't even thought of the pak 36. Sorry for the confusion. The flak gun was too large and heavy for the sdkfz 251.

I remember seeing a T-34 turret mounted on a 251.

Didn't the Germans also put a T-34 turret on a Panzer IV ? I think I remember seeing a pic of one way back when.

Does anybody know if this was done or can retrieve the pic ?

I put in my vote for the Nashrorn, I have a couple of Panzer IV waiting for conversions, the Stug is also on my short list.

I also did a one-off Stug IV, but somebody made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

The Brumbar was also one-off, but I could do a kit if there is enough interest.

I have sold several laser-cut kits of the Jagdpanzer IV L-70, and could produce more:

I started doing a Nashorn, but don't have the skills to cast the gun. I can supply the laser-cut superstructure at a later date:

I thought that you went into production with the Brumbar.

I guess it would be OK to have put that in the poll then.

The Nashorn would be a lot of work to do .I think the whole entire top hull will have to be scrapped.

Remember guys its not just the upper surface, if you are going to tackle the nashorn or the hummel you also must stretch the rear of the chassis.

I circled the start of the extension piece, you can see it in this pic, the bottom has a sharp upward angle.

I like all 3 choices but I went with the Kugelblitz. It looks cool and at an estimated price of $85...... thats not bad.
Oustwind and Nashrorn/Hummel are right up there as well.
One way around the chassis extension is to call it a prototype :) ..... that saw action. There is a photo in Chamberlin and Doyle's Encyclopedia of German Tanks, page 109 plate337 of a Hummel built on a standard Panzer IV chassis. I think that would be the way to go, otherwise you'd also have to extend the tracks. :x

I'm currently working on a Stug IV, just started cutting up one of those RC "Panzer Like" Panzer Iv's on Saturday.
I'd also like to do a custom of a Panzer Selbstfahrlafette IVa....
Image
...like the Kugelblitz only two were made but they saw combat.

Well Pickel there are plenty of Panzer IV variants to keep you busy for a while.

agreed, no need to extend the chassis on the Hummel. It's not worth the effort. It will look just fine.

It would be fine with me on the standard chassis, I'm for sure not a rivet counter, not that there is anything wrong with doing so, my skill level probably would'nt allow me to hack the whole tank up :D

By the way, that 88 on the panzer is cool, Jnewboy.

I think scale ion the " stretch " would only be about 1/8th of an inch. Considering hull work and making the tracks longer .

Forget about it.

The 21st Tiger tank is 3/8 of an inch too wide. I think that I am the only guy on the planrt who caught the error.

So 1/8th of an inch too short she will be.

Kugelblitz ,100%. The least amount of work for the least amount of money on the most interesting subject of the lot. I've even got the dragon 1/35 model if you need it.

You would not have to make the tracks longer. The drive live and all that was not changed, the rear idler wheel stays in the same spot, its kinda an optical illusion. One would just have to cut off the rear end and build a triangle shaped three sided box and slap it on the rear and then reattach the rear wheels.
