From Badcat's email:
"We are sitting on pending news from the NY Toy Fair that should have something very interesting for 1:18 scale fans. In addition, our ear-to-the-ground connections within the industry are indicating a possible new player emerging, as well. Stay tuned, when we get any news, we'll report it."

I know if I was a multi-billionare, what better way to invest some of your money than in a new military toy company.
Model it after 21st Century Toys, but learn from Walmart's mistakes.

I heard a business Professor at LSU say the best thing that can happen to your business is to get business with Wal-Mart he also said the worst thing you can do in business is get in business with Wal-Mart.
I know of another Gi Joe contender coming but that would not be of interest here i don't think.
I awaits emails and pictures by sunday.

Interesting take on Walmart, I agree.
C'mon man there's plenty of GI Joe fans here. I got lots of the 25th stuff. Though some of the vehicles just don't quite cut it after you're used to the 1:18 military toys most of us are used to now.

well I knew a couple of guys do, but we are greatly outnumbered. I am really interested in the new pursuit of Cobra stuff tho it looks like the vehicles did poorly so they are getting cut from the line. I have to admit they don't really interest me because BBI and 21st stuff which lucky for me most of my fav made production, like the little birds, Blackhawk, cobra and apache.
But there are some great figures in POC that can work with 1/18 easy
like snow job for Arctic modern troop.
cobra shock troopers for swat or something sweet with minimal repainting.
Snake Eyes is also great too I got 16 for jumping out of 2 black hawks
I hav found that most of the BBI gear can be put on joes easy as pie and i have a couple of custom squads bearing parts in mass from BBI troops.

well maybe Hasbro should finally wake up and realize the benefits of making realistic looking and sized military vehicles. They'd sell far better both to Joe collectors and non Joe collectors alike. They don't have to make 1/18 F-18's......there are plenty of smallish, interesting vehicles and weapon systems they could do for the Joe line that could be done realistically and to scale.

That's the trouble with these toy companies like Hasbro and whatever the heck they are selling at Toys R Us these days. Where do you draw the line between toy and realistic?
They get close (well close enough) with vehicles like the BMF, AT-TE, and the AT-AT, which are fantasy vehicles anyways. The Striker was a nice size, but who wouldn't rather have a Merit Tomcat converted to GI Joe colors? The balance just can't be struck between almost realistic and authentic military toys at the scale Hasbro basically started with 3.75 or what we consider close to 1:18. You have to have either or.
It's a conundrum.
Maybe Hasbro should have bought out 21st Century Toys...maybe not.

Bearing in mind Hasbro doesn't give a $&*% about what adults want all the time. THeir primary focus is generally kids, and kids won't always shell out $100 for a jet or $50 for a tank. The $100 items in Star Wars are anchor toys sold at every retailer, space hogs, and generally only released through the holidays.
$50's cool for us for a tank. $50's not cool for mom and dad for a tank that will be beat to piss by the kid they're buying it for. Star Wars and GI Joe kind of both go with that flow of thinking. Costs have to be kept down so the price doesn't get to a point people stop buying.

One of them in probably the Omega line, which NightViper referenced.
I think it's called Omega, anyway haha.

well, a few years ago Hasbro released a very nice, scale Humvee for the Joe line, which sold really well. I thought they would take a hint from that but they haven't.
And Power Team can crank out realistic, nearly 1/18 military vehicles for low prices...why can't Hasbro? And Bravo Team stuff was both 1/18 and realistic and it sold for $19.99 and $29.99....about what Hasbro charges now for their puney and unrealistic vehicles.

I have one of those GI Joe Humvees. It's black with a figure, a TRU exclusive. It's nice.
I believe companies who make authentic versions of military vehicles have to pay royalties.
Another production cost. Maybe that's a good reason to produce axis vehicles and planes. Nobody's got the rights to them anymore like Northrop, Boeing, Grumman etc.
Hasbro doesn't have to pay anybody for GI Joe vehicles 'cause they invented the GI Joe toy franchise.

Hasbro has far more stringent production guidelines than PTE, trust me. And depending on the line, they also have licensing fees.

I agree. I like the small joe figures.
In fact, Agent Helix, Admiral Ackbar, Capt. America, Mike from the Quad Gun, N.Vebb, and Snake Eyes almost constantly sit on my desk top to frighten away a SS Trooper.

Well, I guess we will just have to wait and see.
Not really into figures, although I do have a couple of 1/6 BBI. F-15 pilot, and U-2 pilot. And I have seen some pretty fantastic new 1/6 scale figures.
I just hope any new release doesn't have a case of"Tomcat measles"

Could it be worse than the Snooki Tan the 21st figures sometimes had?

The Vietnam soldiers were all pink that's fer sure. The WWII soldiers did have funky washes on their faces sometimes, like they forgot to wash their faces.
There's no shortage of soldiers lately, but I'm sure some people could use articulated jet pilots and ground crew with accessories.
I'm hoping it's AllGo that makes the debut with the 1:18 King Tiger, P-51B/C, along with some new 1:32 planes, and anything else confirmed or rumored they were working on before or after 21stC demise.
Maybe AllGo-Skyworks will have the A-10 ready for display.
If wishes were horses beggars would ride.

If All-go releases the 1/18 King Tiger, I sure hope they do some weathering on it. Some of 21st Century's later 1/32 planes had some weathering and it looked pretty good.
