MAJ. RICHARD WINTERS, the World War II hero whose heroism was the inspiration for the acclaimed television mini-series 'Band of Brothers', has died at the age of 92, reports BBC News. Winters passed away on January 2nd 2010 following a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
