I like the gear! (Not so much into it though because I don't have the moolah for the tank :( )
But I would love to get a couple of PPSH-41s

I was going to ask the same thing about the PPSH-41's and the helmets. I could use a dozen of each.

The PPSH -41 is the GI Joe 41. Cut down to 1/18 scale. I cut it 6 times toget it to scale at 47 mm. I also reduced the mag as well.

The tanker's headgear looks a lot better on a 21st figure head. The Indy Russians have crazy thin faces.
I was in a hurry to try and get pics up so I did not use a 21st head like it was created for.

The steel helmet is Plasticboy's creation. He made it for me back in the summer.

He says that he may make a series of Russian figures :D

The figures that I will make for the T-34 will have both helmets, PPSH-41, bed roll, torso, arms and legs.
I do not think that I will do the hands and heads.
Because you could use a lot better sculps than what come with the Indy figures.

Comments on that ?

Which G I JOE 41? The one that came with Red Star's CP?
I'll probably go without the helmets and bed roll, though they look great, but Id love to get those PPSH-41s for a more after war/cold war sort of diorama.

Pickel, I wouldn't worry about the indy hand and head sculpts, 21st and FOV have far better ones. Changing the indy fig heads to 21st/FOV heads may take a little work but someone could do a how to.
Great to see this project moving along.......... 8)

I need some of the Russian tanker headgear for my 1/16 tank figures. Will any be offered as a stand alone item?

Yes probably.

I am not sure if it will fit on a 1/16 figure.

Somebody asked me about the chin straps.

My rendition the chin straps are tucked into the ear muff like patches on the side. Or made to look like that anyway.

They did this quite often to get them out of the way.

With the weather the way it is down here pouring of resin is shut down. TOO COLD :?

So I was moving on with the figures.

I was playing with the Indy figures and they sure have a lot of articulation. To replicate these would be some serious work. Probably about 30-40 pieces counting all the limbs sockets joints .....

So I was thinking of making them semi static. The comamnder would be standing with his arms free to move.

The tank rider will be kneeling with arms free to move as well.

As stated before the figures would be headless and handless. So that you could swap out your favorite head sculpt and use it. Also the paint would match.

So I will work on that today and hopefully have some pics up tonite . :D

I will be offering the tankers helmet,ppsh-41 and standard helmet on their own :D :D :D

As far as the tankers helmet fitting on the 1/16 head all you will need to do is sand down the head.

In the pics that I have the helmets were made of a dark grey cloth that was kind of strechy. Some of the crews helmets just kind of hang on the guys heads. In some of the pics they were tight !!

So I think that they would work .

why are you casting the whole figure? Aren't there zillions of these russians around on ebay?

Would still like some of the headgear of both types. I guess I need to reword my earlier question about their availability. I need some for 1/18 figures that I use with Russian 1/16 tanks.

Well I said that I would.

Now if you guys want only the helmets and guns I could drop the whole idea and move on.

And let you guys rely on Plastic Boy to make his little beauties.

I am still going to make the helmets and ppsh's seperate and in mass.

there are hardly any Russian soldiers in that scale on Ebay. If there are then I must be searching for them in an incorrect manor. The few I've seen are too pricey for canon fodder waiting to be slain in the dozens by the Germans. Even then those AK-47s stand out, they need the PPSH-41 to help them fit in. I'd like to be able to get some Russians.

Yoxford, I wasn't thinking that at the time........but yes it does sound like something Stalin would say.

I just checked ebay for Indy Russians  ............10 bucks was the best price thus far...... :? http://compare.ebay.com/like/3303820893 ... 602_309572 I've seen them as high as 25 bucks per fig.

Pickel, you my have to cast a few.................or wait for Plasticboy to make some.

It looks like they are thin on e-bay. When I search I type in indiana russian and a few show up

http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=indian ... ans&_rdc=1

I will be making the figures as I stated. The rider kneeling and comand standing.

I almost have the rider ready to post. I think that he came out fine. I alterd the collar so that it accepts standard figure heads.

I will do the same for the comand.

Pics in a few hrs. :D
