Post by Jnewboy » Tue Dec 14, 2010 2:22 pm

I have entered into this place in order to converse with fellow collectors. I have read some of this site for along time and have enjoyed watching the arguments over my work. I thank those who have defended my work and those who have criticized it. I hope that the criticism will not stop now that I am a member. I am not always right (but usually I am) :D

I have about twenty or so more customs that will be listed on ebay and my Etsy page in the following months all in 1/18 and look forward to all your opinions.

PS. The German P-38J did exist and can be purchased on my Etsy page (in 1/18, I dont have the real thing.....yet  )

I look forward to conversing with all of you!

Glad to see you posting. What was there to criticize? Your Sturmtiger is fantastic!
Sorry to be stupid, but what is an Etsy page? :?:

Welcome to the forum. I have seen your work on ebay many times. Always a topic of interest. I have started a few discussions myself. I like the 109G you had on there recently.

That one came out really nice, the yellow hub really stands out against the grays, I cant believe it did not sell. Its funny to think that someone will pay $1,000+ for a "rare" 109 that in reality is probably a good repaint and isn't even that interesting of a paint job, actually pretty plain, even if it is a original its not a one of a kind. At the same time an original, one of a kind, totally authentic down to the RAL colors used and custom made decals to resurrect the very fine details like hydraulic fluid intake and fuel intake, then weathered on top of that and of an actual Ace does not sell for $250????

Bizarre I think... But that's ok, I honestly do not build for profit, I build for myself, then I list it if it sells great, I can make myself another someday, if it does not sell, I get to look up at it hanging from my ceiling and it look awesome!

Hey Pickel Thanks, I love it, I think it is bad a$$ and I may just keep it. Ill trade you it for some kits!! make me another Stuka G kit! Im going to do the one I have this next year along with the P-36 and the wirblewind I got from you. I wont be selling the planes but I will offer up the wirble when its done. If I can get another kit from you though I would like to sell one just to see how high it goes. You did a great job! You and the Woofer are some of the best scratch builders I have ever seen. You should consider doing more planes!

Yes and no, I am a WWII fanatic that said I cant go down to the airport and see a Me109 or many other WWII planes. There is a huge airshow every year around here and I see lots of mustangs, and corsairs, and even a Zero from time to time, I can go to Reno and watch the air races and see Tomcats, F18s F16s and all the rest all the time. When something is available all the time to you it losses something. If the dumbass's at all these 1/18 companies had any brains they would make more stuff that people don't see every day, like a 1/18 Mil 24 Hind or a Mig21 or Mig29 or a Foxbat although that would be pretty big. Its not that I don't like doing custom US stuff its just not that rare. I like all the challenge of doing German, as every thing is so diverse and a custom is more than a different girl on the side. I hope that makes since.

PS here is the most recent pic of the Kate I made. I know its not perfect but it looks damn good hanging up.

Yeah, that kate kinda sucks...but I am loving the German P38! Nice weathering on it as well. Good to see another customiser over here.

Hey meant to ask you, saw your current decal listings. What do you mean by "I'm the only known proprietor of custom 1/18 decals & have used them on all my celebrated custom planes."? I think Jackson and several others would beg to differ concerning the decals. Just curious.

Well really they don't need to with their own biz plus online etailers carrying their goods as well. Your play on words makes it sound like you are the only one is what I'm getting at. Maybe if you added to the effect of "...on ebay" would clarify.

Well that wouldn't really matter though:

vmf214 is correct there has been other before you, your play on words is .....tisk..tisk..tisk.....
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!

Thanks for your kind words MG-42, That ostwind was a fun and frustrating. I wouldn't of sold it but like my sturmtiger I have new 1/16 replacement projects going for both that Im collecting parts for and dont want both in such close scales.

Hey VFM, I added "these" to my listing, just for you buddy

Added...what? If this is an attempt at provocation, it failed.

I'm not down with the whole cyberspar scenario. If honest questions are bothering you and you feel you must respond in this way, feel free I guess.

For someone who does't use an airbrush, you are a talented painter & your weathering is quite often impressive. But some of your claims and assumptions you've posted on here in the little time you've been posting are a little out there. Like I said, your way of thinking is interesting. Right, wrong, or indifferent...nontheless interesting.
