I was thinking that another great figure box set idea would be one based on the French Foreing Legion.
Here are some pics, the figures would be really cool in 1/18 especially with their "Kepi blanc" removable hats.
What do you guys think?

Good one! Actually Gate made a 18th Jeep with Abbot and Costello I think.
And a 1/18th Jean Claude Van Damme to go with them shouldn't be too hard, then of course we would need some bad guys and a 1/18th fort. Then you could take it with you to set up when you go to the beach .

I see a six figure boxed set with each one posed in a different surrendering stance. Very realistic.

The Legion is The Legion. It does not surrender like common soldiers of france.
You want cojones, The Legion has them. Crack a book.

what laughinggravy said...
The FFL are well known for their bravery and fighting ability.
Let's keep the insults to other nations off the board please. We do have French members here and others who may not take to kindly to these types of slurs either..

With all slurs aside, and back to topic.
Keep in mind that the Foreign Legion used US equipment in Africa: Command Cars, Dodge 1 1/2 ton trucks among others. Desert diorama's anybody
My 1/1 Command Car was surplused to France, sent to FFL and after years of use, was returned to the US stocks.. When I was restoring it I found live 9mm ammo behind the seats and a couple in bolt holes in the floor. Whatever it was doing, having ammo rolling around was not common in stored surplus stocks.
I have a rare Dodge book (all in French) with hundreds of Dodge pics, from 1/2 tons up to the M880 series. Plenty of color pics of the FFL, including one very cool pic of a 1 1/2 ton Dodge in the desert with a 75mm recoiless rifle mounted on a pedestal mount in the bed.
Say what you want but the FFL were like our Marines, they used what they got their hands on and used it well.
