bid and won a 1 18 California Cutie. Had buyer's remorse all week. box was delivered today, and the BR disappeared. what a great specimen. I have another piece coming this week: shooting star f-104. i want to convert it to a NF-104a. contacting some of you already. wings need some modding, the rudder/jetnozzle needs tending to, and of course the decals. my wife gets exasperated with each delivery, but man, do i love these planes.

it was still just a bit more than i wanted to spend, but in the end, i had to bite before the pricing point got out of reach. last on the list of "gotta haves" is the flying tigers p-40, but HM is making it a challenge.
still though. CC is just flat-out awesome to have in the inventory.

iBall, if you are ever in NYC you can have my MIB FT P-40 for a steal. I would offer to ship but people on here can testify that might take a while (or eternity). Same applies for other members - if ever in NYC and want to see the ultimate 1:18 garage sale, drop me a line.

WOW AG.
That is a lot of 1/18 P-38 models.
Well you obviously did your part with the 1/18 hobby.
CC is probably my favourite, just because of the bright colours. But Haleakala is just as good, if not better.
Glad you are happy with your CC iballdriver.

i have a pretty good collection, i am happy with what i have. now i need the room to display them all. time to finish the basement into manland so i can put all my pieces out!
it was a notable reaction. removed the shipping box from the CC, and just thought to myself as i held the big box in my hand, gazing at the 2 props and canopy, "hell, yea. worth.every.penny."

I got the California Cutie P-38 about three years ago at my local Hobbytown USA store. Initially, I resisted it as I was still content with my S1 "D-Day" P-38. Then when I decided to cave in, they sold out. Fortunantly, my Hobbytown restocked a couple a few weeks later and I got one then. Very glad I did
Its easily my favorite of the P-38s and one of tops in my 1:18 aircraft collection in general

Congrats on the P-38. It must be huge. With 1/18, you have to buy when you have the opportunity. Glad you got your plane.
I own the 262B night fighter, with 2 Corsairs due in the mail shortly.
Congrats again. Any chance of posting a photo or two?

due to space constraints, they are still packaged up, waiting for the day to come to be displayed. gotta finish the basement so i can do them justice.

CC is one of my favorites as well - here's a shot of mine while they were all down for Spring Cleaning this past Spring:
