You won't be disappointed :D It looks better in person than on the box pictures. Obviously it is my first 1:16 R/C tank and now I'm hooked. Good news is that the XD Tanker figures look just fine in it. They were a little big for 1:18 anyways...

My tank tingles are out of control now. Got it, opened it. I'm as happy as a little girl... with a Kingtiger.

Jnewboy wrote:do you guys know the best place to get the Ostwind and Wirblewind conversion kits for 1/16 Mk IV's??

To the best of my knowledge, there are not any conversion kits of this type in 1/16. I search the 1/16 RC listings on ebay just about every day and have never seen any there or on any of the RC vehicle sites. I don't frequent the RC forums much so that would be a good place to start looking to see if any exist. Hope someone will post an answer if they know of them.

I know pickel has some 1/16 vehicles. Like to see him start offering some 1/16 conversion accessories. I know some think I am talking blasphamy, but in another year or so, 1/18 scale armor is going to be just a fond memory (if not already).

Got to quit limiting myself to just U.S. listings on ebay.

You guys are costing me money :)

Collected 1:18 stuff for years. I start reading about 1:16 armor.

I now have purchased 1:16 King Tiger, T34 and Panther. Great stuff! Tiger is up next!

I was primarily interested in using them as static displays but the RC component is a hoot!

Of course my wife is wondering where all these big tanks are coming from :)

here's an interesting ebay link.

a UK seller was selling the Jagdtigers a few weeks ago for 80 pounds, or about $130. So it seems to me they are just starting to become available and will probably be readily available in the new year for less than that, as prices in the UK are usually higher than in north america.

So i would definitely hold off on getting a 1/16 jagdtiger, anyone who's thinking about buying one of the ones currently on ebay. You may save yourself close to $100.

So is the STurmtiger pretty much gone from Ebay these days? Bummer... That's an odd design, and one I should've pounced on back when I first started looking, but how do you know what's going to come and what's going to be around a while ya know? That's the only frustrating thing about these... Nobody seems to know what's coming for sure, and when it's coming, and what's going the way of the do-do bird.

Would LOVE to have one of those Jagdtigers... Again, variations galore, and that's a sweet one.

Matorro is a wierd company. They keep discontinuing lines and then start them up again. The Sturmtiger disappeard a few years ago then reappeared for about a year and a half and is now gone again. It will be back i'm sure. Same for their KT. They probably just do a big production run. Let it sell out, give it time for demand to build up again then do another production run etc. HL stuff seems to be always available.

I think the Jagdtiger is just startng to come out. What the deal is with the sputtering availability i have no idea. May be leftovers from the Awesome Hobby exclusive that they don't want. Give it another year and i suspect they will be generally available for around $130.

As best as I can tell, this company is still currently in business. Some interesting conversions. A bit pricey, but a couple I would like to have.

Yes, they're still in business (just released the A1 kit) and for what you get they are not too pricey at all for a resin kit.

I have 3 ready for some HL donors to come along.

Interesting! Anyone interested in what I guess you would have to call a one off prototype tank?

Just a fantasy tank. I do not believe any prototypes were made ... kinda like the E-50 and E-75.

Actually to be correct it needs the 128MM gun instead of that 88MM. (according to the drawings)

Sorry Pickel, your T-34 has failed to leave an impression.

Maybe I should have said no manufactured prebuilt and painted 1:18 T-34 tank. I have no painting skills (yet) or would be buying a lot more of Pickelhaube's stuff. Speaking of which, cant wait for my Ho-229! :-)

There are many many people in your boat, that or they just dont have time to work on projects... That is why the full build and paint on the Ho 229 should sell very well!!

I don't know if he ever got back to you Jnewboy but I've read that Phil from RCtankwars has been ill and in the hospital so maybe that was the reason he didn't get back to you.
