Does anyone have any info on the Heng Long King Tiger Henschel turret? Looks like it has been available in Australia. Will it be ever available in the U.S.?

Just worried about damaging gears or the mount the mechanism is on. On my copy, the turret seems a bit loose (side to side movement) and I don't want to make things any worse. Is the turret play normal?

Also, has anyone upgraded their batteries to NiMH or their chargers? Thought I'd use my airsoft "smartcharger," which handles NiCad and NiMH, instead of the included charger.
Dont do it. Yes it will break

Thank you so much for the information. I would think that it's just gears connected to an electric motor and should turn relatively easily, about like the drive sprocket, but turret certainly didn't seem to want to budge.

This one makes me little seasick.

Looks like the hull has zimmerit and the turret doesn't.

Hi guys,

for those who could be interested, here are some pics from Asiatam 1/16 FAMO.
It'a a big beast that weight a bit more than 6kg (13.22lb) made from metal. Honestly, it's a real piece of art full of détails.

I hope those pics will show you the high quality of this impressive model.
Of course many pièces still need to be screxed and fixed on it (notek, headlights, windshield, Wheel caps and so on).

Hello,

I have this 1/16 built (Not very well done) Tamiya Sherman I picked up a long time ago thinking it was 1/18. I would like to sell it and have the following questions.

It weighs a ton! It has no remote although the motor is likely good. Is it better to remove the heavy motorizing or is that really important?

It would need to be completely restored, repainted, re-decaled, etc. Would say $80 plus shipping be a fair price? The .50 is there though not attached but I don't know enough to know what else might be missing.

Any opinions?
Thanks!

Price is 600€ fully builded. That means around $800USD.
It's expensive but is ready to be made RC and is a real piece of art. I plan to paint it but I have to admit I hesitate as I think it could be a kind of crime for such a metal jewel to hide it under paint.

My car cost me $500, haha. :P I'm probably out on that, but it's very sweet looking. It really needs a paintjob though. Nice camo pattern.

Thanks for sharing the information of the Famo. I have been looking quite some time for the weight of the model on the internet.
I bought the mato all metal stug III and panzer III. The stug weight 8.5 lbs and the panzer III 9.5. lbs. The taigen KV 1 and 2 tanks which are plastic and metal weight 12.5 lbs.
I am not sure why the KV tanks are that heavy with the upper hull and turret being made of plastic. The new Torro king tiger with metal Henschel turret should weight 15-16 lbs?
That Famo is truly a jewel. With 3d printers becoming more affordable each year who knows what the future holds for the re-sale value of plastic models. Metal tanks may stand a chance of holding the value specially after the manufacturer discontinue production of a specific model to move on to the next model.
If you get the Taigen elefant or tiger Ferdinand i will like to see pictures as the ones you posted on the Famo.

It has good and bad points like just about any of them. Happy to have it, especially at the price. Packaging could be a lot better.

Haven't seen an IR version yet. So, this one is airsoft with the recoil that resembles a small startled dog.

Never the two shall meet. 1/18 holds a special place in my heart and I just can't mix 1/18 and 1/16. Dedicated shelves for the different scales.

Eventually, the 1/35 Karl Morser is going to have to find a new location when the pickelhaube JagdTiger arrives. :D

Oh I figured you had the Porsche 1/16... That's what I have. I will have to get this so they can chill together... on a very sturdy shelf.

For those who could be interested by Merit german sFH18 howitzer, you can follow my building here :

It's a fantastic model as good as Tamiya kit. I hope to see more kit like these in the future.

Looks like there will be a Heng Long M1A2 Abrams sometime. Saw one for sale out of China on eBay this morning.

Wanting to retire my Hobby Engine Abrams. I discovered that the tracks had dried out and hardened. The metal tracks are too expensive.

Hi guys,

here are some pics of the ASIATAM Kubelwagen. Full metal (except seats, wheels and top cover) and ready to be RC fitted. I purchased mine 165€ ( $187USD ). Weight is a bit more than 1 kilo.
The wire you can see on the floor (pics 3) is for the headlights.
It's a great model and I thanks my wife for this cool Valentine's gift :D
