From $100.00 it was 2 people going at it with a bidding war. Those are great for the seller.

				Holy cow!
The ending price is insane. I was fortunate enough to get a bubble top 47 from a member here earlier this year at a wonderful price and felt lucky.
Oh one of these days I'll have my Gabreski 47

				Ouch!

That looks like a pristine box too though. Luckily I got one back in the day at Walmart. I'd hate to think what I'd have to pay these days.
I would like a Gabreski. That would be my choice of a custom D. Surprised 21st never issued one like they did in 1:32.
There was a custom 1:18 in another thread a while back, someone did one around here.
Like to see what that "Hairless Joe" is gonna look like too.

I just got one off ebay for a third that price and I wasnt too happy about paying it but I missed getting a bubble canopy back in the Walmart glory days.
That is a crazy high price.

You gotta love ebay! Reminds me of the 21C 1/32 P51 "Princess" I sold on ebay last year, used, for $160.00! Every now & then, when the stars are in alignment, you can get a couple of folks who, at the same time, really want that item & the sky is the limit!

Wow. I got 4 of these at a small town Wal-Mart clearanced for $25.00 apiece few years back. May have to re-think custom repainting them now. Good day for the Seller on this listing!!!

WOW! That is more than what the F-16 can fetch! The seller must really be happy.

				$370.

Ironically I just picked up "Eileen" from Aviatornut just last week.Paid a bit less than $140 for it. Not cheap, and about as high as I was willing to go.
It is only my second P-47, and my first "bubble" canopy. And a great looking scheme.
Not sure why two people would go this ridiculously high for this model. Seller must be very happy.

One of the planes I am missing from my Thunderbolt collection. Based on these prices, it may be a LONG time until I can get one, if I ever can...

I have actually given away some 1/18s over the years. Sure I guess I could have sold them as some are worth a little scratch now.
They went to kids, so I hope they got an appreciation for aviation, history and models out of it. Might help the hobby to get new collectors in the future which we surely need.
Anyways, I took mine out of the box and hung it up. Yes I guess I destroyed my retirement by devaluing it like that. LOL But it looks good.
