This was the pre-release that was being sold at Comicon. You should see it sometime in the future.....

boy i bet that goes for a ton..

what was 'special edition' about it?.....just the packaging correct?

odd that they would give it the FW-190 pilot since he's wearing completely the wrong parachute harness. Won't be noticable when he's sitting in the cockpit i guess..

Nice looking bird..

that's a nice plane!

but i'm not gonna panic and bid on it because everyone will have it soon enough. instead, i'll wait for either wm or an etailer to get the plane.

17.50 for shipping costs almost half as much as the plane would at wm! in fact, i bet you could buy two (three?) of those at wm when the time comes for the price that plane is gonna sell for now.

i'd rather have two planes down the road than pay for someone's trip to comic con. but someone else won't, and that's their god-given right.

my two cents.

steep price & shipping on plane available at TRU!!!

$17.50 is only a bit much for an XD AC flat rate, but the same seller gets $17.50 to ship a Killer which is in a small box and ways next to nothing. I guess we all gotta cover costs somehow...myself included

EDIT - I guess that would be "weighs"

He's hardly "paid for" anything yet. Those were sold at $55 US. The current bid is at $42 and change.

It's a nice aircraft if you like german planes.

It's a nice plane but I think there are just too many 109's out now.

I meant 109's in general, but I guess if you divide them up among the different types then there aren't that many. :D

There's about as many 109's out there as there are P-47's. (including all models) But that's not a bad thing.

I just opened up the Gunther Rall 109, upon the assembly I noticed several differences from its perviously released Red Tulip nosed sister. The Rall ship is a much improved version! The wings fit onto the body better and with a tighter fit. You can tell from the new grooves added to the wing root which slips into the fitted slots on the body. This also keep a better shape to the wing. The next thing I noticed is that the entire tail section is brand new! The rudder has 100% more mobility over the older rudder. the same is true for the elevators. The tail even has a nice semi-circular cut into it to allow for the travel of the Elevators. The new Rall version also boasts better paint, a radio mast and the chin intake is more realistic with better paint detail over the Graff. It's true that the 190 Pilot is the figure that is packed in, he does sport the same scared look on his face, but hey you would be little nervous too if you flew over 600 missions was shot down 7 times, and got your thumb shot off tangling with Zemke's Wolf Pack! Impressed I know that much about Rall? Don't be I got it all of the back of the special edition box!

Ok I need to correct myself before one of you wise guys do! Rall was shot down a total of 8 times, not 7! It's been a long week and my memory of reading the box a few minutes ago isn't so good. Then again my mind might be mush... I just goat back from seeing the new Wonka movie!

Anyone want 1:18 scale ommpa lumpas for dioramas?

Cool. I knew Roy was talking about improving the new 109G's. Did 21st modify the landing gear support legs to allow for the proper strug angle?? I know this was one of the specific items.

This marks the 3rd time that there has been a series improvment during a single run of planes. Can anybody identify the other 2?? Quiz time.....

would one of them be when they started painting the rest of the canopy supports on the 109Es?

The 109 canopy issue might very well be one of them, I didn't even think about that. I don't know if that was a off and on thing more than a line improvement. I'm happy mine came came with them painted..... Good call.....

Here are the two I was referring to:

1. The Razerback P-47 canopy and slide. This changed from the 2 piece canopy without the slots for the canopy to go back onto the single piece with tabs.

2. FW-190 landing gear hinge pins. The first run had real thin hinge pins that broke all of the time (happened to me) They modified them with beefier ones on subsequent runs.....

I don't know of any other mid-production modificiations on XD planes or vehicles....
