How much will you pay for a 1/18 scale King T ?

Post by pickelhaube » Fri Jul 30, 2010 6:41 am

Well all of this talk of an expensive A-10 possibility and polls flying here and there.

I might as well make another poll. In order to take up more space on this forum.

I was all geared up to make a KT of my own. But that nagging rumour of 21st/Allgo making one forced me to shelve the idea.

Along with the Komet and my preposed A-10.

So all that being said , and if Allgo does NOT come through.

How much would you guys be willing to pay for one ?

BTW

If I were to make one . I think that I would make the Porche turret version.

That way if Allgo ever came through with their version , my version would still have been unmade

pickelhaube has put out several one-offs that no one offers, just because he proposes to build a Kingtiger why do you feel the need to attack him?

That is true. Pickel does talk about a lot of models, but he does not make them. What happen to the clipped wing Spitfire?

At the time I posted my clipped Spitfire post there were tons of interest.

When I finally caught up and was gearing to to do my next build.

There were only 3 -5 guys who were willing to step up to the plate.

Were you one of them ?

My starting point has always been 10 guys. 10 guys say they will get it and I make it.

That is always the way it has been and the clipped wing Spitfire did not get the 10 when I was ready to start it.

I think that I stated that in the one of my many posts on the subject.

Anyway.

I run several posts and try to see if there is interest in a certain subject. I am fishing when I do most of my polls.

Here some of poll winners

Wirbelwind
M-10
Humvee turret
V-1 dolly
Sdkfz 222
Indy side car

EVERY SUBJECT I HAVE MADE WAS RUN THROUGH THIS FORUM BEFORE I MADE IT . IN ORDER TO SEE IF THERE IS INTEREST.
.

Then I have guys who want me to do direct commissions. That takes me in another direction.

WHEN I SAY I WILL MAKE SOMETHING , I DO. IT MAY NOT BE IN A TIMELY MATTER BUT I DO MAKE IT IF I SAY I WILL.

You can pull up my past posts and see if you like.

Thank you for bringing this up and I hope you got the answer you were looking for.

Hey Pickel,

thanks a lot for your great Sherman molded hull, wading trunks, Firefly parts, tracks and CIP panels ! You're THE man ! ! !

BTW, your molded hull and Firefly parts reminds me my 1/35 Verlinden kits as your work is realy professional !

Keep the good work !

WOW...I don't know what the hell was goin on but I will say Pick is Standup Guy! If you read all his posts, the things he did'nt make was because of lack of people commtting. I have two of his products and they are awesome (I know 2 isn't alot). If you make the KT (I know I said 100 Bucks but 200 isn't out of the ball park) I will buy it. I would also like an A10 please.

Up to $150, absolutely. As you rear $200 the Matorro 1/16 becomes an alternative, along with the R/C features as a bonus. Not a fan of the Porsche turret, but understand your reasoning

$100 or not much more is a good reasonable and realistic price adjusting for inflation.

I'm not that much of an armor collector, but I did buy a lot of it in the heyday. I would spring for a King Tiger to go with all my Panthers, Panzers, Tigers etc. etc.

Hey Pickel,

What a way to come back from your holiday huh? Bet you need another holiday now to get the blood pressure down

Do you have a ballpark figure for each of your KT if say 10 guys signed up? how many guys do you need to get to below $250 as most have voted?

Btw, how many do you need to get that down to $39.94?

Guess I should have read everything before I voted. I voted $39 -100 for the 21st/Allgo model.

$39.94

Heck that wont even pay for the resin in one of them.

The $250 mark may be a tough sell . But I never say never.

I can not believe 30 guys actually believe PH can make a KT for $100 or under AND sell it to us for a small profit. That is nuts with all the work that would go in a full scale large tank.

If we want a KT, we will have to pay serious money for it, so come on guys, get serious, or just sit and wait for somebody like AG to make one..... and wait and hope..... and wait and hope......

I failed to read Picklehaub would be making it...whoops.
Obviously it would be more than a production Allgo, which I voted $100.
