interesting choice. One of my all time favourite planes. I had one made a few years ago. I remember i posted a picture of it a while back. Big plane in this scale. Rivals the Hellcat and Thunderbolt.

I've wondered about these large resin plane models...will teh resin warp over time? Especially in the heat of summer? Resin tends to be soft and can warp under its own weight, so i am wondering if wings might sag on these largge plane models over time.

I have a 1/6 resin "Andrew" 106mm RR. The barrel is about 14" hanging from the breech assembly. It has sat for about 5-6 years on shelves with no sag or deformity.

I'm not saying that a single barrel would equal the weight of a set of wings, just that resin is not susceptible to the problems of resin many years ago.

Of course, that said, I did have a 1/6 resin 3.7cm Pak 34 do a nose dive off a shelf and exploded like a bad dream. $125 bucks in the wind.

I'll take plastic, but if you can't find it in anything else, resin is doable.

Great choice for a 1/18 plane.

But it is still $350 for a kit.

Not for me,but I am sure a couple of people would be pleased with this.

Yup, $350 is pretty steep, but if I can find the cash for it I may buy one. Still waiting to see if Skyworks releases a P-39 though.

If it was 350 complete (painted) i might consider it...but it's too rich for me. Really like the Hurricane as well but can't justify that kind of money for this hobby.

The resin does not warp. Once it sets up it is very hard ans holds its shape very well. If we though it would warp we would put some type of spar in it like we do for the Kommett.

Unfortunately, € 350 for a KIT is way too expensive for me... I would prefer a pre-painted variant.

I have a Spit XIVe kit from skyworks myself. I have not built it yet but just looking the parts over and fitting them together by hand I can tell you that it is not soft and is pretty durable considering these are cast. I only wish we had an alternative to vac formed window canopies. But really, overall I am excited to built and paint this into a fine 1:18 example. I am considering a Warhawk or FW-190A next.
