Back in 1:18 - JSI Tiger or 21st?

I did 1:18 armor back in the WM days and wound up selling it all over the years. I am considering getting a Tiger. Should I shell out the money for the JSI model or hit the BST forum for older 21st? I know that the JSI is just a prettied up 21st mold.

I think I was advised that the Bravo Team version was better than those other two.

Really? Hmm, I forgot all about the Bravo Tiger.

The Bravo version has zimmerit but that is the only advantage I can think of. I guess it depends what paint scheme tickles your fancy, but the 21st will come with a crewman, JSI well

the bravo team is a good choice. It's not as detailed as the 21c tiger but it does have zimmerit. In some ways it's more accurate as well but it is plasticy looking. The 21c has more opening parts and an (inaccurate) interior. The bravo will no doubt be cheaper.

I agree that Bravo Team felt plastic like.
I'd go with the 21c ... the turret pulls up and out, giving you access inside. JSI should do the same, but I've never peaked inside my JSI tiger.
If you want die-cast, there was a "Motorworks" release of the 21c tiger.

100% 21st's Motorworks metal one is my favorite... I've seen Bravo Team's, and the Zim's nice and stuff, but I like the bulk/weight of my Motorworks... I have the grey plastic one from 21st (original) as well, and it's equally good just not as weighty.
To me, the interior's a key too. I liked the feature. I never bought another model of the Tiger then since I've got one for my shelving with the Motorworks. Considered selling my original plastic version of the same tank a number of times though, as I really only want one for the shelf.
Anyway, I'd go with 21st's mold... Just my take.

Wasn't there and issue with road wheels or something on the Bravo?

Yeah I think I will shell out the extra bucks and get the 21st. Might also get a Panther eventually. At least they give you a commander figure.

I would go for one of the gray or whitewashed 21st diecast Tigers if possible or the 21c Tiger in the "Eastern Front" cammo.
HOWEVER, I rather like the JSI Tiger and got one recently from my local hobby store. I like the cammo scheme and it has nice subtle weathering. The tooling is exactly the same as the 21c version, save that it lacks the cuppola machine gun, commander figure, and markings (ie national insignia, numbering, unit markings). German tanker figures can still be found easily on ebay and there are decals for the markings.

Don't buy nothing is my opinion...because once you have the Tiger, you will want a Sherman, then a M48, then a ....
and in the end you will be pissed because the manufacturers are full of BS and don't produce anything new. I was holding out for a King Tiger to complete my collection and now that will never happen. I so pissed off that (all of us) fell for empty promises (again) that I just may ebay my entire collection, - I'm that pissed off.

Yeah, I'd take Mitch's advice and go for the FoV or the
Heng-Long 1/16 scale version if you can afford it. Right now, 1/18 is going nowhere fast. So unless you want to be stuck with a couple tanks in your collection, I'd say opting for 1/16 armor/AC is the best alternative. And, anyways, as we've been told time and again, 1/18 figures are actually closer to 1/16.

I am not a big WWII fan i just dont really care for the aesthetics of it especially things like the sherman but i have stared at my share of the German tigers and panthers thinking they would be great with cobra logos on them. if i ever buy anything WWII it will be a tiger.

Have you considered the WW2 21st Century 88mm?
Think it wouldn't look out of place with some Desert Vipers in your Cobra forces (seen someone do that but not sure if its here)
A 21st Century ME-262 Nightfighter would look cool too for Cobra

I have honestly considered the following:
Panther Tank Red 332 1:18 21st Century
GERMAN LUFTWAFFE ME-262B-1A/U1 "RED 10" 2 SEATER NIGHT FIGHTER
21st Century XD 1:18 Hanomag PAK-40
they feel cobra the 88MM feels nice too.
i wish more non US stuff was made like a HIND or even some EU stuff but nothing, tho i still an A10.
joe team is super easy I got Wild Bill a 21 C Super Cobra better than a dragonfly.

Believe me, if there's ever a true to 1/18 Hind or A-10 released, there will be riots not unlike those wedding gowns clearance sale
At least your cobra tiger tankers will last longer then the glass canopy Hiss drivers

yeah i have 7 mint hiss tanks and i keep them boxed up in closet because i thought they were cool and now not so much i should probably use them for painting experiments. i think the guns are stupid! stupid laser gun turrets!
i need to do some modding... hmm glue and fire...

A HIND & A-10 would surely be nice.
