Several posters have stated that BBI designed JSI's F-14.
If so, did BBI also design JSI's F-15 and SU-27 or were those two jets designed by JSI?

It has not been confirmed mate.

Plus the F14 that was put out really isn't BBI's style. It was a bit too detailed and a bit too fragile. I doubt that it was a BBI design...it just doesnt seem quite right.

I am not 100% positive but I have been told that the F-14 is indeed a BBI mold. It was suggested that it was a newer generation mold. The realistic / fragile gear would make sense as a response to the negative feedback of toyish soft plastic gears on the F-16 and F-18.

I doubt that JSI had enough time and money to start an F-14 from scratch and bring it to market in less than 1 year. I also suspect the F-15 and Flanker are also BBI tools. I don't care as long as someone puts them in plastic for us!

Another question: Did BBI design the F-14, F-15 and SU-27 to be released as BBI models, but the economy/1/18 market went sour so BBI decided to sell them to JSI....or did JSI request that BBI design the three jets exclusively for JSI?

I can see the BBI heritage with the F-14 to an extent. The detail level on the F-14 is quite similar to what one finds on the highly detailed BBI WWII aircraft - and the BBI designs were becoming more highly detailed and less robust compared to their earlier toolings (as the Hellcat and Bf-109G demonstrate).

I still think that had BBI released the F-14 themselves, there would not have been the paint issues nor many of the QC issues. I also think they might have improved upon the landing gear, but who knows.

the only thing i wonder about is the su-27. BBI had a very strong tendancy to make the most obvious and popular version of a plane first. That was even true with their A-10.

But the Su-27 is a two seater.....an odd choice at best. So perhaps it is a JSI project, or JSI reworked it into a 2 seater (which would also be an odd thing to do).

The F-15 being a 2 seater is less odd, as a strike eagle would be quite popular and easilly re-released as a single seat fighter.

Given other close affiliations between BBI and JSI, i have little doubt the Tomcat was BBI and possibly the F-15, not as sure about the Su-27 but it does knda follow.

I wish JSI would release other BBI projects that never saw the light of day, like the A-10, Hind, C-47 and B-17...
