Anybody see the 109 prototypes on ebay?

They don't look like anything special to me although I would like to see what differences there are between the two versions this guy has for sale. Guess they'd be ok for repaints or for a hardcore collector but I'd rather spend my money on a finished plane; I tried painting and my results rivaled my 2 year old's work....

edited to add, I checked out the guy's other auctions and he's got some armor and a Jeep too. Anybody know where he would have gotten these things?

I saw the auctions on Ebay.
My first thought was, where did he get these??
He could be connected to 21st Century in some way?
Does our 21st Fan Club Prez have any information on this??

Interesting... I don't know the history on these items. They do look legit though. The box prototype is a dead give away as an early 2 sided window box circa 1999.
I have seen many of the early prototypes in the 21st Vault and I am quite sure that this 109 is the same ME-109E that we all know and love. It doesn't look any different at all. I am curious what stage this prototype is in. It could be an early one off mock up made of styrene and acrylic or it could just be the first shot plastic parts unpained but stamped in plastic from the factory.
That could make a big difference in the Value of the piece. Although I doubt it has any value any more to 21st. They haven't seemed to have missed it too badly.

That's different.
I wonder what it will finally sell for?

I seem to remember about 3 - 4 years ago. Some one on GPXD got a hold of a jeep that was unpainted or parts of it was a prototype? I can't remember...
I think there must have been a time when 21st had some stuff escape... the 109 tropical scheme, these prototypes, and other unexplained events seemed to have occured around the same year!
I really am curious to know the stage of that 109 prototype! I sure looks like the 1st stage styrene type and not the plastic version. It would be quite delicate but a cool find.

Has anyone e-mailed the seller and asked about these prototypes?

If I remember correctly, a few years ago, 21st auctioned off/sold a bunch of extra prototype stuff they had lying around.. Maybe this guy was the one that bought them up???

Or maybe the last day of a trade show 21stC gave them out. I learned my lesson last toy fair in NY. Next year I'll go on the last day and get me some freebies from 21st C.

I believe they did ebay a few things a couple of years ago....as said the seller is a long-time member so if he chooses to chime in he can....

Cool stuff. I dig the prototypes - but they generally go for more than I want to pay for.

it would be interesting if some of the unproduced prototypes went up on ebay: sdkfz 222, PBR, Pak 40 etc. I bet they'd fetch a price..

They look a little plain but I guess they have their place in 21st history.
