Will we see a B-25?

Do you guys think that 21st Century had a prototype model for the 1/18th scale B-25 model? Any chance anyone would make this model in the future?

Nope and nope.
I think they just went out and announced it before it was very far along in the development stage. I never heard of there being an actual prototype.

there was no b-25 prototype. Will we ever see one? Maybe, one day down the road after the economy has been booming for a few years..

At this point I seriously doubt it. 21C only began preliminary work in regards to model types, paint scheme selection, size / box breakdown, and cost / margin analysis. I don't think it had been built into a prototype before the WM bubble burst and the 1:18 world as we knew it, came to a crashing halt.
It was going to be an extremely complex model with lot's o detail and options. Supposed to be the biggest and baddest 1:18 to ever be built. I just don't see how it would work now with costs / margins as they are now. It's hard to see that happening now. -sadly...

As TKO says - never gonna happen. Too big and too expensive.
If you want a 1/18 B-25, you'll have to settle for the B-25's on the market now in the RC market for a scale close to 1/18.
Or else come up with a few grand for PH to make one for you.....

It would be a big un' that's for sure.... about the same size as the JSI F-14, but a little taller I think.

Maybe in 1:32?
Now we know how the B-17 went though, but it is smaller, two less engines, no belly turret, no nose turret, just one turret.
Aw heck just pull out all the guns put broom sticks in there.

happily, the r/c b-25 that TTT mentioned is quite nice and readily available for about $200 shipped. It's around 1/17 and there are two versions available; glass nose and gun nose. They're also nice and light for easy hanging.
Interestingly, in my early conversations with Mike from BBI, he told me that BBI had built prototypes of both a 1/18 C-47 and B-17. While neither got produced (obviously) they were pretty serious at one point about producing the C-47 as they felt it would also greatly increase figure sales.
However, disappointing sales numbers at TRU for the earlier BBI WWII stuff killed the idea before it got to the tooling stage.

I think the bigger question is....Will we ever see "anything" in 1:18th again or are the companies left barely treading water ??

Whoever thought we would see a 1/18 Tomcat?
Never say never.
Change is the only constant.
They build it, I buy it.

If they made an F-14, a B-25 is possible. It seems like it would be a bigger seller than an F-15, and certainly more than a J-11! However, I don't see it in the near future, and apparently not from Allgo...

I disagree that a B-25 wouldn't be a good seller but 1/18 would not be the proper scale. 1/32 would give us the detail we want and still be a big plane.
But, I am sure the future of 1/18 depends on how All-Go's first P-51 product sells. If the numbers are good, we will see the KT and others. If sales are poor, that's proof to the manufacturers that the 1/18 guys are just a bunch fanatics, off in the corner, demanding whatever they would like produced and mumbling to themselves.

Yup the MiG-21 was in the same boat as the B-25. Both were supposed to be behind the F-4. Which I think actually had been sent off to be built into a prototype but never finished as that was right as the WM support dropped off the map and froze everything, including the KT which made it all the way to tooling and into first test shots.
There were apparently a couple other projects that were considered and paint masters were made but also became victims of the 1:18 fall. I really hope that All-Go can get some traction here really soon and hopefully we can see a comeback rally there just isn't enough products out there for us these days. I want planes, tanks and figures! Haven't stepped foot in a WM in almost 12 months now. -don't miss WM, I just miss the 21C stuff.

The B-25 is AG picking up some cash. Check out their other stuff, it's all 21C and AG. And the P-51 Passion starts are $275.
How do you like that sports fans?

That B-25 Apache Princess from Hobby Lobby is looking mighty tempting. Just trying to figure out where to display it
