Very cool.. 8) The Lanc is an enormously historic airplane, and to the best of my knowledge there is only one remaining that is currently in flyable condition.

there's probably a very close to 1/18 lancaster coming this year by flying styro. They make model quality r/c planes. Should be a beaut.

IIRC, there are three flying Lancasters. One is in Canada, there is another for sure in the UK. Not sure if the third one is UK-based or not. I kind of remember something about one being a flying example in Austraila but I could be wrong.

I know of two for sure.

Yeah, now that you mention it I think two is right. The one in the UK would most probably be this one.... http://www.raf.mod.uk/bbmf/theaircraft/lancaster.cfm called "Phantom of the Ruhr" I recently watched the DVD by the BBMF, and for some reason I mistakenly thought their Lanc was the only one still airworthy, DOH! :? Any idea who owns and operates the one in Canada...?? There's no chance I'm gonna get to see the UK one in flight anytime soon, but if the Canadian Lanc ever comes to an airshow in the Northeast US, I would love to see it fly.

BTW, for anyone who might be interested, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight DVD "Lest We Forget" is outstanding, definitely worth watching...

Only two flying Lancs in the world. One is in the UK,the other is in Ontario,Canada.

It shows up every three or four years at Abbotsford Airshow.

If the Canadian Lanc shows up near an airshow near you,you should go see it.

One of two flying, and a real "Holy Grail" of flying aircraft. 8)

Here it is.

Greetings:

Those of you in the Northeast US...

The Canadian Lancaster is coming to the 2010 Reading World War II Weekend held by the Mid Atlantic Air Museum in Reading, PA. This will be the second appearence for the aircraft at this show, the first coming in 2006. The aircraft will fly in the airshow portion of the program.
